Property Description for 435 East 52nd Street, 7-A1

This spectacular estate apartment with bright southern and open eastern river views offers a unique opportunity to create your dream apartment in on of New York's premiere buildings. The River House, designed by William Bottomley, was completed in 1931 and at the time boasted docks and direct river access. The building is a beautiful example of innovative Art Deco design and is located above the recently renovated River Club with its extensive athletic and dining facilities including swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, gym and golf simulator.

Apartment 7A1 features over-sized picture windows offering unobstructed views of the East River, Roosevelt Island and New York Harbor. In its current configuration there are three bedrooms all with en suite baths, however there is the possibility to combine two of them into a grand master bedroom while still maintaining a sizable second bedroom. There is also the possibility of opening the kitchen up into the formal dining room. Sunny open views, high ceilings and large rooms make this apartment a can't miss opportunity for anyone looking to live on the river in one of New York's most storied buildings.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
