Property Description for 25 Howard Place

On one of the finest blocks in Windsor Terrace known for its unique porch-front homes, you will find this charming century-old brick townhouse. A flawless renovation created the perfect combination of Arts & Crafts character and modern conveniences such as a cook's kitchen, a half bath on the parlor floor, air conditioning, and a fully finished basement. This home is move-in ready! Craftsmanship, simplicity, and beauty are the characteristics that define this beautiful home. Sunlight pours into the spacious living room with oversized windows and original stained glass panes. The windowed dining room, positioned between the center parlor reading room and the kitchen, is ideal for entertaining and holiday gatherings with views of the backyard. The custom kitchen is magical with its Caesarstone countertops, custom cabinets, built-in butcher block, pull-out pantry, stainless steel appliances, breakfast bar, and a farmhouse sink with a picture-perfect view of the garden. Off the kitchen is a large pantry and steps that lead directly to the backyard. Evidence of a well-constructed home can be found throughout—parquet floors, original oak paneling, pocket doors, and high ceilings. The center staircase, lit from a skylight on the second floor, leads you up to a large master bedroom with plenty of room for a king-size bed and an office area. Two additional bedrooms and a full bath complete the upstairs. The finished basement is a bonanza of additional living space—currently configured with a den area, full bath, a windowed office and workout room, washer/dryer, storage, and plenty of extra room for ping pong. With the choice of two outdoor spaces, you can enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch or out back on the bluestone patio in your peaceful and private retreat. Perfectly located 1/2 block to the F/G trains and just two blocks to Prospect Park. Neighborhood favorites such as Brunswick, Krupa Grocery and Double Windsor are around the corner on Prospect Park West. Zoned for PS 154. More photos and video soon!

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
