Property Description for 140 East 2nd Street, 4-O

First Showings will be July 9th and July 12th by appointment only, 30 minutes apart to allow for proper distancing and disinfecting between showings. Showing slots fill be filled first come, first served. If you are feeling unwell in any regard, please do not making an appointment for a viewing. Move right into this thoughtfully reconfigured 1 Bedroom / 1 Bath, one of the larger lines at 140 East 2nd Street featuring a gorgeous entry foyer with a front hall closet. The seller of Apartment #4O is an architect and reimagined the expansive 17'x'12' Bedroom, and put in sliding pocket-doors to create a Nursery/Home Office while still allowing for a queen sized bed, and a wall of custom closets: The functionality of a 2 Bedroom, for the cost of a 1 Bedroom. The eat-in-kitchen is well proportioned with a gas range, and full sized refrigerator with ample space for an additional butcher block and other kitchen storage. One of my favorite elements of this apartment is the separation of space: Bedroom is on the opposite side from your living and dining which affords for a dining table, credenza, as well as most oversized sofas, love seat and media center setups. This well maintained building has two elevator banks, a live-in super, a very generous pet policy, a package collection system, a laundry room with brand new machines, a recently refinished children's play room and a music room complete with recording equipment. Bike storage and storage cages are available for an extra monthly charge. There is currently a wait list. Located in the heart of Windsor Terrace, you are close to the F/G trains and all that Ft. Hamilton Parkway has to offer including Steeplechase Coffee, Batata Pita Bar, the Windsor Terrace Library, Jaya Yoga, Hamilton's and the Greenwood Playground. There is a $48.55/month assessment in place until 8/31/2022.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
