Property Description for 166 Duane Street, PH-B

Straight from the pages of Elle Decor is this five bedroom, four and a half bath penthouse condominium with enormous private roof deck, open views, stunning light and a twenty-four doorman.

Enter into the great room through a forty foot entry gallery and take in the impressive scale while feeling a true sense of warmth and quality in the recently completed renovation of this elegant home. Soaring over the neighboring landmarked architecture, the spectacular corner living room has wonderful open views and is wrapped in light throughout the day from its southwest exposures and large windows.

Host dinner parties for twelve in your south-facing open dining area adjacent to the masterpiece kitchen. They say that kitchens are the heart of the home and this is no exception. Its expert design is evident from all angles from the endless marble counters, center island, stainless steel appliances including Sub-Zero side-by-side fridge and freezer, 48" Wolf range with grill and griddle, kitchen-aid dishwasher to custom cabinets, with endless storage. Continue on to the butler's pantry, where you can quickly clean up from parties thanks to the Fischer & Paykal dual drawer dishwashers. This is where wine connoisseurs will be at home as we enter the 1000 bottle climate controlled wine cellar.

The owner's suite is perched on the southeast corner, where you will enjoy a floating wood-burning fireplace, breathtaking views and wonderful sunrises through large arched windows. An adjacent windowed dressing room is a closet lover's dream with a place for everything. A separate walk-in will keep your better half happy. The spa-like master bath has a custom side-by-side marble topped vanity and walk-in shower. Working from home has never been better than when taking calls in the ensuite library, also a great nursery, with three exposures.

Screen movies for friends in your media room with integrated sound and video as you pour drinks at your wet bar. This area could also be used as a separate living room for kids to have their own suite. Bedrooms two and three are tucked away here with their own bathroom and have wonderful views.

Located just off the main entry, is the perfect guest suite, facing west with its own ensuite bath.

Heading upstairs you'll find the beautiful sun room, and perfect gym, with large floor to ceiling sliding glass doors framed in teak. These lead onto your incredible private roof deck clad in bluestone and Ipe towering over Tribeca. Here you'll find an outdoor kitchen, water, gas and electricity. You've never experienced sunsets like this before.

166 Duane is the anchor condominium of Tribeca, located directly on Duane Park in arguably the best location in the neighborhood. Some of the best restaurants, shops, and transportation options are right outside.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
