Property Description for 225 West 25th Street, 4-J

You'll say "Wow" when you enter 225 W 25 St. 4J. Advertised rent is net effective with one month free on a two year lease. This sprawling one bedroom sponsor apartment is all about options - there's so much space to choose where you'll put your desk, your tv, your king-sized bed, and which out of the four closets and huge basement storage to store your stuff. 225 West 25th Street #4J is a rare find: a huge, newly renovated, pre-war one bedroom sponsor apartment (that means no board approval and immediate move-in) in an elevator coop with beautiful renovations and no application fees. This classic and roomy Art Deco home combines the best of the era – high ceilings, original wood floors, rounded soffits, a window in every room (7 total windows), a sunken living room, and a separate kitchen with all brand new stainless appliances. The windowed entry gallery has an ample foyer closet and plenty of room for dining or a home office. If you’d prefer a larger table, step down into the vast living area which absolutely gobbles up your furniture, offering unending possibilities to arrange living, dining and work-from-home space. The sparkling, contemporary bathroom in white tile, glass and chrome accents is also windowed. Just outside the bath are two more closets and the entrance to the south-facing, super-sized bedroom, which easily fits a king bed, side tables, dressers, a vanity, a desk and even a comfortable chair. The bedroom closet makes four total closets, and if that's not enough, a large basement storage cage is included in the rent. The well-run, 6-floor, 65 unit cooperative at 225 West 25th Street has a fabulous live-in superintendent who takes packages, a common roof deck, a courtyard, a central laundry room, a bike room, video security, a lobby and an elevator. It is perfectly situated across the street from Whole Foods, a block from both the 1 and C,E trains, a stone’s throw from the 23rd Street Crosstown bus, the HighLine and all the conveniences of both Chelsea and Hudson Yards. Sorry no shares and no smoking. Pets considered. $20 credit check fee. Actual rent is $3500/mo for 24 months.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
