Property Description for 355 Saint Marks Ave, 1

Welcome home to Residence 1 at 355 Saint Marks Avenue. This immense home features 2690SF of interior space, 975SF of private outdoor space, 3.5 bathrooms, basement storage, and unbelievably low carrying costs. A perfect townhouse alternative without the headaches and responsibilities of dealing with house renovations and maintenance, this turnkey home offers endless possibilities with its flexible layout.

The large entryway divides the home with the public living areas on one side and the private sleeping quarters tucked quietly away on the other side. To your immediate right upon entering you'll find a powder room and coat closet before continuing down the hallway to find a bright, sunny guest bedroom and full bathroom as well as a gracious master suite. A large walk in closet, second closet, and spa-like en-suite bathroom with glass enclosed steam sauna shower and dual vanity complete the southern-facing master suite.

On the northern side of the home, the beautifully renovated kitchen is replete with high end stainless appliances from Wolf and Viking and offers an envious amount of storage including a walk-in hall pantry closet. Open to the living/dining room, the entire space is bathed in sunlight from the large windows that look out over your own private garden spaces. The living/dining room is spacious enough for a 8 to 12 person formal dining table and large additional seating area and is punctuated by windows on both sides.

A dramatic central staircase with reclaimed wood steps leads down to an immense space on the lower level that can be used as a rec room, media room, home gym, home office, or more! Toward the front of the home you will find an additional bedroom and full bathroom as well as a laundry room with washer and dryer with utility sink and additional storage room. This level also provides direct and easy access to your private 68SF basement storage space.

On top of the immense interior living space, the true focal points of the home are the private side and back yards. With a rare direct street entrance, perfect for outdoor gatherings and landscaping to avoid having visitors walking directly through your home, the yards are fully planted and ready for your enjoyment. They provide a magnificent oasis in the heart of Brooklyn.

355 Saints Mark Avenue is on the edge of Prospect Heights and Crown Heights, surrounded by an abundance of coffee shops, retail, and restaurants. The home is in close proximity to the B & Q trains at 7th Avenue, 2 & 3 trains at Grand Army Plaza and A & C Train at Clinton-Washington and provides easy access to Prospect Park, Barclays Center and more. Welcome to your new home!

Please note that unit 1 is listed as 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 2 half bathrooms in the offering plan.

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
