Property Description for 70 Vestry Street, 5-F

Welcome home to Residence 5F at 70 Vestry, undeniably Tribeca's premier address. Designed by famed Robert A. M. Stern Architects, this intimate collection of only 46 grandly-scaled homes is set within a glittering facade of French limestone punctuated by oversized casement windows and rusticated metalwork, all arrayed around a gated porte-cochere and private courtyard entrance.

The warm and inviting 3 bedroom/3.5 bath home, designed by AD100 architect Daniel Romualdez, begins with the entry gallery leading into an impressively-scaled living room with ceilings exceeding 10 feet and hand-sawn oak floors in a wide plank. Southern exposure admits light cast across the quiet cobblestone streets and landmarked Tribeca architecture of Vestry Street.

The windowed eat-in kitchen features state-of-the-art custom finishes from the exquisitely hand-milled cabinetry to a waterfall-edge island topped with a delicately-veined marble. Appliances are by Sub-Zero and Miele, including two dishwashers, and six burner range with pot filler.

The expansive master suite includes a seating area and 2 custom walk-in closets. The master's soothing en-suite bath with double vanity and private W.C. Represents a freshly crisp interpretation of classical materials like marble, bronze and fluted glass. Both secondary bedrooms include en-suite baths. Powder room trimmed in travertine for guests. Triple-filtered climate and humidity control. Double washer/dryer.

70 Vestry offers an unsurpassed package of wellness amenities including an 82-foot swimming pool, hot and cold plunge, fitness center with yoga and pilates studios, and regulation-sized squash court. Additional spaces include an impressive dining suite, billiards room, lounge, and children's playroom. Security both at the gated courtyard and via the 24 hour concierge is paramount. And all of this with the wonder and magic of Tribeca, the Hudson River, and acres of waterfront parkland at your doorstep. A most exciting offering in a landmark location.

Please note this newly constructed apartment is not subject to new development transfer taxes.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
