Property Description for 819 De Kalb Ave, 3

819 Dekalb Avenue #3 has come to market, a rare opportunity to own one of Bed-Stuy’s most spacious and elegant duplex condos, marking the first resale in this highly coveted building. With its bright, sun-filled 9’ ceilings, generous private outdoor spaces (both front and rear balconies and exclusive rooftop) and its meticulously designed 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath layout, every detail of 819 Dekalb Avenue #3 expresses graceful luxury. From the private entry, ascend to an extensive light-filled living/dining space with made-to-measure built-in book cases, floor to ceiling Pella dual-pane noise reduction picture windows, generously flowing Belgian Linen drapes and stylish oak hardwood floors, complimented by a Chef's Kitchen with full size high-end stainless steel appliances (Fisher&Paykel refrigerator, Bertazzoni range and hood, Bosch dishwasher) and capacious white counter top that links these brightly lit living zones together. This relaxed entertainment space is completed by a generous powder room. A flight of stairs leads to a bedroom layout that is incomparable in scale and quality in the Brooklyn New Development or townhouse realm, the focus of which is the owner's sanctuary: a prodigious master suite. Framed by floor to ceiling Pella dual-pane noise reduction picture windows and chic light grey Belgian Linen drapes, the master suite is a sun filled haven with a walk-in master wardrobe crafted by California Closets, an en-suite with generous bath and a custom designed built-in office (stealthily hidden behind bi-fold doors). Complimenting the master suite are two queen-sized bedrooms with built-in closets by California Closets, one room enjoying it’s own private balcony. These graciously proportioned bedrooms share a full bathroom with bathtub and are connected via a substantial central atrium housing a custom-made storage unit that includes a large reclaimed timber sliding barn-door, discretely hiding the washer and dryer behind. The atrium is bathed in light by a huge window in the portico above, through which the pinnacle of the condo's magic and drama, the private roof deck, is accessed: Saturated in sunlight and over-looked by no taller buildings, with views to Manhattan and glorious sunsets, the roof of 819 Dekalb Ave #3 presents a unique opportunity to enjoy serene space all to yourself. Situated in the heart of a vibrant and thriving part of Bed-Stuy, 819 Dekalb Ave #3 is a must see for anyone seeking a chic and comfortable living space in a rising investment neighborhood. 819 Dekalb Avenue #3 Details: 3 BEDROOM 2 AND ½ BATH 1,770 SQ FEET + 795 SQ FOOT PRIVATE ROOF 9’ CEILINGS FLOOR TO CEILING PELLA DUAL-PANE NOISE REDUCTION PICTURE WINDOWS PRIVATE BALCONIES, FRONT & REAR BUILT 2016 CENTRAL HVAC WASHER/DRYER – WHIRLPOOL DISHWASHER - BOSCH FRIDGE - FISHER&PAYKEL OVEN - BERTAZZONI ITALY WARDROBES BY CALIFORNIA CLOSETS THOUGHTFULLY DESIGNED STORAGE SPACES HIGH QUALITY SECURITY GATES

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
