Penthouse living within a boutique building. 43 Fifth Avenue penthouse West offers a rare opportunity to reside in a top floor apartment with only 3 neighbors on your floor.

Spectacular penthouse on Greenwich Village's "Gold Coast" offers three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and unparalleled design. Upon entering the trophy residence, a formal foyer is graced with three large coat closets and a powder room. The elegant powder room features a hand-crafted marble wall mounted sink, custom wallpaper, and sconces.

To the right of the foyer is a large north-facing bedroom with ensuite bathroom, full laundry room, and walk-in closet. Through the foyer is a sprawling living and dining area flanked by an open kitchen. Adorned with superb detail, the kitchen is outfitted with premium finishes including Sub Zero fridge, 2 Thermodor ovens and excess storage.

Facing the kitchen is a dining area with custom millwork, recessed lighting, and oversized east-facing windows. Adjacent to the dining area is a spacious living room, glowing beneath a second skylight and offering sweeping views to the west. The room also features a wood burning fireplace, a rarity for Manhattan’s lower Fifth.

Down the hall from the entertainment spaces are two additional bedrooms. The enormous master suite is flooded with light from south and west exposures and offers a wall of custom closets. The ensuite five-piece master bath is complete with a double sink vanity, deep soaking tub, stand-up glass enclosed shower, a skylight and Travertine floors.

Other exceptional details of the home include matted black wax oil floors, four skylights, a solarium, and central HVAC.

Once home to Marlon Brando and Julia Roberts, amongst other notable celebrities, 43 Fifth Avenue's Beaux Arts style truly exemplifies the grandeur of lower Fifth Avenue. Located on this coveted stretch of the City, the stunning historic architecture lends a serene residential atmosphere with the shops, dining and services of Union Square within easy reach. Michelin-star restaurants Blue Hill, Babbo and Gotham Bar & Grill dot the neighborhood, with Whole Foods and Trader Joe's both just several blocks away. Transportation from this central district is effortless with B/D/F/M, L, 1/2/3, A/C/E and PATH trains all nearby.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
