Property Description for 729 Chauncey Street

Bushwick has not yet seen a house like this in its history. 729 Chauncey St is finally here and ready for you to become the next owner of this gem. Sitting on one of the most famous historical blocks in all of Bushwick, with gigantic trees encompassing the entire street. You will have the townhouse experience you have been dreaming of in this home. This two family townhouse is the perfect mixture of location, layout, renovation quality, curb appeal and price to put all the components together for absolute perfection and serenity!

Originally constructed around 1899, this home has undergone a full gut renovation from top to bottom. Cast iron plumbing, speaker system, towel heaters in the bathrooms, heated floors in the master bath, Andersen windows are among the many luxurious upgrades this house has come across. Craftsmanship like this you have never seen before and tremendous attention to detail was taken into consideration here.

Enter the house through the parlor level, greeted by beautiful penny tiles in the foyer reminding you about the "Simple Life". Walk right through your classic wooden door and you will see perfectly hand laid herringbone oak floors that extend all the way to the kitchen where for an added touch, American Walnut floors were placed. People always ask, "is the fireplace working" and the answer here is YES! A wood-burning fireplace in Bushwick! Pyle speaker system in place for excellent sound quality and the owner has even included a movie projector in the purchase of this home. You will never need to leave your home with everything that this house is equipped with.

The layout is partly what sets this house apart. With a 19×50 building size and high ceilings, the house feels endless. Configured as a grande 3BR 2 Full 2 Half bath owner's triplex (direct access to the 8 foot high cellar from the owner's duplex) over a large 2BR 2BATH Rental unit , which is perfect for someone who wants to generate high rental income while paying the mortgage, or for a set of two buyers buying together who want big units. Each unit is equipped with their own washer and dryer. The cellar's high ceiling heights and windows in the rear make it a perfect man-cave, she-shed, home gym, office, studio etc. Endless ideas for this large space.

Location is another big plus. Aside from being located on arguably the prettiest block in all of Bushwick. This home is a short walk to both the JZ train at Chauncey or the L train at Wilson or Aberdeen. Less than a 10 min walk to Irving Square Park, and less than 10 min drive to Northern Bushwick and Williamsburg. Location wise you can't miss here! Salud, The Evergreen, and Father Knows Best are all steps from the home, giving you the comfort of knowing you are not far away from the local hotspots!

Make your appointment today to see this marvelous townhome before it is gone!

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
