Property Description for 298 East 2nd Street, 3

RENT-TO-OWN! Should you purchase within 12 months, rent paid will be credited towards the purchase.

An immaculate floor-through condo inspired by environmentally-friendly Passive House standards, this 2.5-bedroom, 3-bathroom home is a portrait of contemporary LES luxury. Features of the home include wide plank hardwood floors, keyed elevator access, triple glazed floor-to-ceiling windows with northern and southern exposure, high ceilings, an office nook serving as a optional 3rd-bedroom, a private balcony, an Energy Recovery Ventilator System, and a Miele washer/dryer with heat-pump technology. The marquee feature of this stunning residence are the dramatic, unencumbered views of One World Trade Center and the Lower Manhattan skyline.

Past a tasteful entryway space adorned with a large coat closet, the home flows into a luminous, open-concept living room, dining room, and kitchen. The living and dining rooms are saturated with southern light, while the kitchen is equipped with an eat-in peninsula, statuary quartz countertops, a matching backsplash, custom Italian cabinetry, pantry space by ALTA, and a suite of fully-integrated Miele appliances.

Both bedrooms sit on the opposite side of the home and have large closets and full en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a private, north-facing balcony and an en-suite with a floating double vanity, sleek Porcelanosa walls and floors, a step-in shower, and a deep soaking tub. The office nook sits between the living area and the bedrooms.

A new East Houston landmark, Houston House is just steps from numerous parks and public gardens and a continually evolving collection of restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops. Amenities include a common rooftop terrace with breathtaking views, an attended lobby, a state-of-the-art ButterflyMx virtual doorman system, bicycle storage, and a package room. It is close to the brand new Essex Crossing development, and is a short walk to the East River Promenade and the Hamilton Fish Recreation Center and Park. Nearby subway lines include the F/M/J/Z. Pets are welcome.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
