Property Description for 88 Greenwich Street, 619

619 offers a fantastic layout in a large, functional space: a wide entry foyer offers both a coat and a huge walk-in closet on one end, and the large living area on the other, flanked by two oversized windows facing quiet Washington Street to the west. A slice of Battery Park City’s green trees enlivens the view. Rich walnut flooring runs throughout the entire space. The kitchen here is one of the most elegant in FiDi: handsome walnut cabinetry, creamy white glass counter tops and back-splash, Sub Zero refrigerator, Fisher & Paykel double drawer dishwashers, and a Viking range. The elegant bath features grey marble surround, dark lava stone floor, a tropical rain shower head, and Kohler soaking tub: the elegant wood vanity and pretty glass shelving truly make the space your personal sanctuary. Love to listen to music or podcasts while you prep for your day? An in-wall i-pod dock, (adapter needed) and built-in, recessed speakers in the kitchen and bath make it simple. Residents at the Greenwich Club have exclusive access to top notch amenities: the library, with its grand piano and wall of books, valet service for housekeeping and dry-cleaning. The building's lounge, known as the Harbor Room, located on the 24th floor, has a full kitchen, cable TV, and stunning views of the Hudson, NY harbor, and Downtown skyline. All the common spaces are Wi-Fi enabled, and there is an on-site business center, and cold storage, for residents. There is a laundry room on every floor. The west-FiDi location is ideal for access to the Hudson River Parks, transportation (PATH, every subway except the F/G) and shopping: literally across the street from Westfield WTC mall, The Fulton Transportation Center, Eataly, and an 8 minute walk to the Tribeca Whole Foods.

Financial District | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The Financial District (FiDi) today is a bit of a hybrid neighborhood, as the residential component continues to grow in an area that has been historically dominated by the financial and insurance industries. The residential experiment, which began more than two decades ago, continues to evolve in an area with a large concentration of older, large office buildings. Developers have taken to these aged buildings and have re-positioned them as residential properties. In turn, the public spaces, services and retail establishments needed for a thriving residential neighborhood have followed making this an important destination for city residents.

Since 2000, the residential population of the Financial District has nearly tripled in size from about 23,000 residents to more than 60,000 inhabitants. Many of the residential pioneers to FiDi were people attracted to the lower rents in the neighborhood, particularly the post-collegiate crowd. While the millennials still maintain a large footprint here, there are plenty of families that now consider the Wall Street area home.

Many of those that live in the Financial District walk to work. If you reside here and need to commute elsewhere, the transportation from here is about as good as it gets. Express trains can take you to Midtown, either east or west, in twenty minutes. Brooklyn is but a single subway stop away. There are also ferries across to Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.
