Property Description for 407 Quincy Street

Welcome to 407 Quincy Street, a brand new, two family townhouse with a black brick facade inspired by the homes that line the canals of Amsterdam! No detail was spared in the development of this fantastic dwelling, built 20Â’ wide and finished in consultation with a designer. The ownerÂ’s unit that spans four levels has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and features brand new, oversized, noise cancelling windows, a state of the art Bluetooth sound system and smart home control panel. An income producing, garden level duplex has been expertly and unobtrusively included in this residenceÂ’s brilliant layout, such that each unit boasts private cellar access and occupies multiple levels without compromising any residentÂ’s maximal privacy. As you enter on the parlor level, you will be astounded by the enormity and openness of the space, facilitated by the buildingÂ’s impressive width and soaring, 10.5Â’ ceiling height. Light floods the entry foyer with coat closet through the entranceÂ’s French door, flanked by floor to ceiling windows that welcome in even more light to the expansive living area. As you delve deeper, notice the modern powder room, just off to the side of the kitchen. Chefs and entertainers will be overwhelmed with countertop space in a kitchen that boats not only a massive center island with a farmhouse sink, an abundance of storage and many electrical outlets, but also a peninsula, with its own breakfast bar, sequestering off a proper dining area towards the back. ThereÂ’s room enough for a table that seats up to ten! Relish your two Bosch ovens and five burner, Bosch stovetop, as well as a large paneled fridge and freezer and a paneled Miele dishwasher. Behind the dining area, the back wall is almost entirely windows, with its own French door that grants access to the large terrace overlooking the private and lush garden. The garden features a new wooden fence and wooden stadium planters, creating a dreamy setting for outdoor entertainment. Ascend the elegant wooden staircase, showered with light from a lengthy skylight overhead, to access the ownerÂ’s sleeping quarters. The common corridor boasts a large washer/dryer closet, linen closet with built in shelving and more recessed shelving that flanks the entrance to a common bathroom with its own skylight, a double vanity, a large soaking tub and a stall shower. The oversized master suite faces the garden and offers many windows, a walk-through closet and an ensuite bathroom with a skylight, double vanity, large soaking tub and stall shower. Two bedrooms with ample room for queen size beds are located towards the front of the home, both featuring large closets with built in shelving. One floor down from the parlor, the owner retains the rear half of the garden level with a large bedroom, rife with potential for alternative uses! The room features its own full bathroom, multiple large closets and a wall of windows looking out at the private garden. Not enough space for you? Fear not! This unit also has access to half of the cellar, one more floor down, with yet another large closet outfitted with shelving. ThereÂ’s so much storage space, you may struggle to fill it all up! The rental duplex privately occupies half of the garden level and cellar and would generate approximately $2,750 in monthly revenue. This house is conveniently located on a tree-lined block between Throop and trendy Tompkins Avenues. Accessible to many hot Bed-Stuy retailers, bars and eateries and in close proximity to the A, C and G trains.

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
