Property Description for 150 West 12th Street, 7-WEST

Situated mid-block on one of the Village's prettiest tree-lined townhouse blocks, west 12th street, this expansive and elegant interpretation of a classic prewar two bedroom residence spans 2,079 (193sm) on a semi-private floor at Greenwich Lane. Residents at 150 West 12th enjoy the privacy of a 24 unit condominium with only two residences per floor offering a level of service unsurpassed by any other building downtown. The building offers direct access to an outstanding array of amenities which include an impressive 5000sf fitness center with 25 meter swimming pool managed by La Palestra, parking garage, fantastic playroom, bicycle room, private storage, 21 seat screening room and resident's events room with full kitchen. The elevator opens to a beautiful semi-private marble landing which is flooded with light from windows at each end and shared by only two apartments. A well-proportioned entry foyer is accentuated by a large window facing north with views over Village townhouses to the Empire State Building. The foyer leads to a marvelously sun-drenched 28 X 19 Great Room with a wall of south facing windows overlooking the gardens of Greenwich Lane. This expansive room provides ample space for separate living and dining areas. The enviably spacious custom windowed kitchen off the living space is outfitted with every convenience and includes a small breakfast nook for casual dining with open views to the north. Beyond the living space, a separate hall leads to two bedroom suites each with their own baths distinguished by Waterworks fixtures and marble tiling throughout. The south facing master bedroom suite is particularly sunny and spacious and includes a separate sitting area with additional custom storage millwork, an expansive marble tiled windowed bath with soaking tub and stall shower and a dressing hall with two large walk-in closets. The second bedroom suite is outfitted with beautiful custom millwork and doubles as a comfortable den/office with stunning open views north to the Empire State Building. A windowed powder room off the entry and laundry closet complete the layout. Finishes include oak hardwood flooring, 4-pipe HVAC central air-conditioning providing heating and cooling year round, custom window treatments and custom lighting. The LEED-certified Greenwich Lane Condominium, completed in 2017, a collection of five distinct buildings and five townhomes, offers a fresh perspective on classic architecture blended with modern day conveniences and amenities. The preserved landmarked building facades blend seamlessly with modern structures to create a timeless centerpiece in the heart of undoubtedly one of the most sought after neighborhoods in New York City. Residents enjoy a 24 hour doorman, concierge and resident manager.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
