Property Description for 140 West 22nd Street, 3-D

The Clement Clarke is a boutique full-serviced condo building located in the heart of Chelsea. The building was originally built in 1911 and converted into 51 modern loft-style residences in 2008 by architect Stephen Alton. No detail was overlooked in this mint condition home. From the moment you enter this designer oversized 908 square foot, 1 bed / 1.5 bath, you will be blown away by the soaring 11' beamed ceilings. The spacious layout offers a flexible use of the space. There is a large dining area that comfortably seats 8 people, or the space can be transformed into a home office or a nursery. Apartment 3D showcases American walnut solid 5" plank flooring throughout, 8' solid core doors, stainless steel and chrome hardware by Newform and custom California closets in each room. The kitchen is a chef's dream featuring crystal white stone cast glass countertops and backsplash, custom teak Italian cabinetry by AltaCucine, under cabinet lighting, a Miele cooktop, dishwasher and built-in convection oven and an oversized Subzero refrigerator and freezer. The entryway closet houses a top of the line Bosch washer and dryer. The beautiful spa-styled bathrooms are adorned with Greek Chios custom marble stone sinks, fumed oak vanities, imported limestone floors and walls and the en-suite bathroom boasts a 60" deep soaking tub by WET. The apartment features brand new central air units complete with smart-temperature control in every room. This home is south-facing (not street facing) so it is very quiet and private.

Building amenities include 24-hour doorman, a common landscaped roof deck, a full-time resident manager and communal bike storage. The Clement Clarke is located in the heart of Chelsea close to all major transportation and the best restaurants and shopping New York has to offer.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
