Property Description for 405 West 23rd Street, 5-F

Spacious Alcove Studio with lots of sunshine. This south-facing gem has it all. Room enough for lounging on your full-size sofa and for dining at a table set for four. Your maintenance includes everything even a gorgeous heated pool, which is just shy of half-Olympic in size. This classic 1930’s building accepts pieds-a-terre, guarantors, co-purchasing, parents buying and unlimited subletting after one year of ownership. Because this home is an interior designers passion project you will see that everything is custom-fitted throughout. Cabinetry in the living room stores everything from your music collection to your wine and air conditioner. And if you need more storage, you are in luck as this home comes with a storage bin in the basement. The windowed kitchen is stylish and a dream to cook in with the sub-zero fridge and freezer, marble countertops, and every nook and cabinet custom-designed for your kitchenware. Large double thermal pane casement windows let the sunshine in. You have full views from your windows because the air conditioner has been installed through the wall. The bed is a super-smart Murphy bed, simple to open and close and surrounded by custom night tables and loads of storage cabinets. The bathroom has authentic prewar black and white mosaic tile flooring, subway tiled walls and a deep cast iron soaking tub. London Terrace Towers is a wonderful place to live. In addition to the gorgeous indoor heated swimming pool, there is a planted and fully furnished roof deck, both included in your monthly maintenance (and… so is the Gas & Electric). The health club boasts yoga classes galore, a sauna, and a steam room. You have 24-hour lobby attendants and porters, a Live-in Superintendent, storage, bike room, and an indoor garage. https://londonterracetowers.com/about/ Right down the street, you’ll find the most exciting part of New York, the High Line, world-famous art galleries, Chelsea’s best restaurants and a few blocks away from the Hudson River, Chelsea Piers, Chelsea Market, and Hudson Yards.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
