Property Description for 49 Chambers Street, 14-EF

The first and most incredible high floor resale offering at 49 Chambers Street. This E-F combination is nearly 4,000 square feet with 4 large bedrooms + a study and is the only available such combination in the building. #14EF is a rare opportunity to purchase a grand, new, fully outfitted Tribeca home with the highest level of customization. The current owner has spent well over one million dollars meticulously upgrading the residence with custom Savant smart home, Lutron lighting, Ornare closets and cabinetry, sound, and decorative upgrades that all will transfer to a lucky new owner. A completely optimized custom floor plan separates this residence from the rest, and the two combined apartments were specifically chosen and meticulously designed by the current owner for the scale, exposure, and flow. Boasting three exposures, high ceilings, and perched on one of the highest floors of 49 Chambers Street, there is consistent light and views throughout. Enter into #14EF’s proper entry foyer and you are immediately struck by the depth and scale of the home. The grand and open plan corner living/dining space stretches over fifty feet in depth and enjoys large corner windows with northwest exposures, perfect to catch the sunset and evening light over Tribeca. The open kitchen has an extraordinary amount of storage, a waterfall honed San Marino marble island, and top-of-the-line chef’s appliances from Sub-Zero, Gaggenau and Miele. There are custom lighting upgrades and motorized shades throughout this area and ample wall space to display an art collection. Beyond this grand room is an expansive corner home office, library or second master bedroom, separated off of the living area with custom double doors. It has its own five-piece master bath and has been fully upgraded with custom closets, sound, shades and lighting. In the bedroom wing of the residence, there is an additional study or home office, currently cleverly designed with a custom Murphy bed to serve as an additional guest suite. The two children’s or guest’s bedrooms both enjoy the characteristic curved bay windows of the home and have access to a four piece master bath with a tub. The master suite, one of the most breathtaking wings on the market downtown, is approximately 1,000 square feet on its own. His master closet and her dressing area are custom by Ornare, with backlit touch-on LED lighting and custom leather interiors. The custom dressing area must be seen to be believed; it is a Manhattan dream! The current owner truly spared no expense when upgrading the A/V and smart home of the residence: Rich AV Design installed a fully automated Savant system throughout that seamlessly controls the audio, visual, lighting, shades, cameras and HVAC seamlessly blended into the Savant system using the highest end components. Closet space is abundant throughout the residence and there is a spacious laundry room with a high capacity Samsung washer and dryer and additional custom storage build outs. Being a conversion building, the home is pin-drop quiet and built to the highest modern standards while still retaining the beauty of the landmark exterior. 49 Chambers Street is a new conversion of a landmarked Beaux-Arts building in Tribeca by the Chetrit Group, with architecture and interior design by Gabellini Sheppard and Woods Gabot. The building has a full amenity suite, including a stunning landscaped rooftop deck, swimming pool, hammam and spa, sauna and steam room, fitness center, resident’s lounge, screening room, children’s playroom, tween room and resident storage. The owner has two oversized storage units, which will transfer with the home.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
