Property Description for 143 Ave B, 12-G

NO FEE + ONE MONTH FREE ON A 13 MONTH LEASE. You'll fall in love with the sweeping views of Tompkins Square Park and the Manhattan Skyline through the oversized corner living room windows. This is the premier two bedroom, two full bath apartment line in the storied Christadora House—the East Village's most sought after, pre-war, doorman building. This historic building was designed by architect Henry C. Pelton, who also designed Riverside Church, in 1928. The apartment has grandly proportioned rooms, with three sun flooded exposures on a high floor, so that it seems like you can see forever. Tired of cookie-cutter? The pre-war vintage details of the building give this special home real warmth and character, with Tompkins Square Park and the vibrant pulse of the central East Village's dining and nightlife at your doorstep. Laundry is on each floor; full time doorman, elevator, and a bike room. This rarely available, condominium unit, is a true gem; understated, elegant, and available on October 1st. Pets on a case by case basis. Note that the advertised rent is a "net effective rent" based on a one year lease price of $6495 monthly with the 13th month free!

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
