Property Description for 60 East 55th Street, 40-B

Located between Park and Madison Avenues in the heart of Midtown East, this apartment is sited at the epicenter of all things New York City! Rarely does a 2 bedroom 2.5 bathroom home like this become available, with sweeping views and an abundance of light throughout the apartment, from its eastern and southern exposures. On the 40TH story at Park Avenue Place, one of the areas finest condominium buildings, you exit the elevator to find only two apartments on the floor. You are immediately welcomed into the property by the formal center hallway which introduces you to the thoughtful layout and the elegant design aesthetic of this home. Incorporating a split layout, you are guided either to the western side of the apartment where you will find an elaborate primary bedroom suite with large five-fixture windowed bathroom, or to the eastern wing of the home where the main living/dining area, chef’s kitchen, half bath for guests along with the secondary bedroom, also with its own ensuite bath, await you. Floor to ceiling windows in this portion of the apartment, complimented by high ceilings, enhance and frame the views from the living space and the flow of the unit makes it ideal for entertaining family, friends and business associates. The kitchen is perfect for preparing that perfect meal and large enough to enjoy a morning beverage at the breakfast bar while gazing out the south-facing window. When entertaining, the area can be closed to all with two cleverly designed pocket doors, providing a more intimate experience. Wonderfully appointed this home features fabulous cherry wood floors throughout. The kitchen is finished with a black granite floor and counter tops and has beautiful white lacquered cabinets along with a Sub-Zero refrigerator, Miele stove top, oven and dishwasher, along with a sizable wine fridge. The luxurious ensuite bathrooms are beautifully outfitted with marble floors and soaking tubs and the half bathroom includes a Bosch washer and dryer. All of which make this apartment an ideal Primary Residence, Pied-a- Terre or Investment Property. Park Avenue Place amenities include a 24-hour concierge, live-in super and resident access to the celebrated *Core Club which features a luxurious spa, fitness center and restaurant. (*COVID guidelines in effect) Offered furnished (excluding a few itemized pieces, personal items - artwork could be negotiated) OR unfurnished.

Midtown East | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Midtown West and Midtown East have a lot in common. They’re bustling, iconic, and full of people. But just like siblings, their personalities can be vastly different. Midtown East is a bit more sophisticated and doesn’t quite have the vivacity and unruliness that its westerly counterpart exudes.

Midtown East is bordered by 42nd to the south, 59th Street to the north, 5th Avenue to the west, and 3rd Avenue to the east.

The neighborhood is famous for its high-end stores, tourist attractions, posh hotels (budget ones too), and iconic architecture. Midtown East is also one of the largest financial and business hubs in Manhattan. During normal business hours the sidewalks are full of commuters and people moving from point A to point B. In the early evening, when the masses have left for the day, things suddenly get a little quieter and the sidewalks have a lot less foot traffic.

Although largely a commercial neighborhood, residential areas of Midtown East do exist on the eastern section of the neighborhood.

Grand Central Station is located in Midtown East and like Midtown West, it’s an extremely commutable neighborhood. The 4, 5, 6, 7 and S trains whisk people in and out of the neighborhood 24 hours a day. Grand Central Station also serves as a hub for New York State and Connecticut commuter rails. These trains can take you anywhere along the Hudson River or up into Connecticut. It’s perfect for day tripping.
