Property Description

Welcome to 695 Monroe Street Condominiums, a 4-unit condo conversion in a handsome brownstone located on a tree-lined block of Bed-Stuy. No improvement was spared in the gut renovation of this building, as it was taken down to the party walls and rebuilt using tasteful and modern materials and wares. Every unit receives heating and cooling through the ducted split system, which operates like central air but with better efficiency. All units also enjoy a custom-fabricated wall of windows off the back of the building: a modern touch that permits a steady supply of northern light. Find upscale appliances such as Bosch, Liebherr, and Bertazzoni in the open kitchens. Efficient layouts means you can carve out a designated WFH area, and this low-density condo building provides the security of owning a condo in Brooklyn while keeping your common areas as low traffic as possible.

Unit 3 is a 815 sqft 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath floorthrough unit with open kitchen, dining, and living room on the northern-end of the apartment and bedrooms on southern end. The master bedroom has a jack and jill bathroom for added convenience and the half-bath houses the electric WD. Unit 3 also comes with a deeded 300 sqft rooftop terrace.

695 Monroe is located between Malcolm X Boulevard and Patchen Ave in a lively pocket of Bed-Stuy. Two avenues away is the Gates Avenue J and Z train. The A and C train is accessible to the South. Local hot spots include Saraghina, Le'Antagoniste, Lunatico, Toad Style, Manny's, and The Wilky. When you're done viewing the apartments, grab a latte at Chez Alex or Cafe on Ralph, or perhaps some ink at the Bed-Stuy Tattooing Co.

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
