Property Description for 380 Riverside Drive, 1/2-U

Value & low maintenance on Riverside Drive! This three-bedroom duplex home is pin-drop quiet and features all of the conveniences needed for modern life. Upon entering, you'll find a massive living/dining room with 10 ft ceilings, a storage closet and an open kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a breakfast bar. Also on this level is a bedroom, hall closet and a full bath. Upstairs, custom cabinetry along the hallway provides plenty of space to store everything out of sight. The large utility closet houses your own Bosch washer and dryer as well as room for all of your linens (and more!) Inside the king-sized master bedroom, floor-to-ceiling custom closets have been installed to supplement the already massive walk-in closet. The third bedroom, a windowed bathroom, and another hall closet are on this floor. With high ceilings, hardwood floors, and recessed lighting throughout, this home has everything you are looking for! The Hendrik Hudson is a pre-war co-op located on the corner of 110th St and Riverside Dr. Built in 1907, the building is well-known for its grand architecture. Amenities of this full-service building include a 24-hour doorman, live-in superintendent, an on-site laundry room, bike storage, and private storage. This is one of the rare buildings along Riverside Drive with a parking garage (waitlist). Pets allowed with board approval. Co-purchasing, parents buying for children, and pied-a-terres are not allowed, but "gifting" is. There is an assessment of $230 / month. 380 Riverside Drive is across from Riverside Park, near all of your favorite shopping, restaurants, and coffee shops, and only a half block to the 1 train! Also available for rent for $5900!

Morningside Heights | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Due to the large number of institutes of higher learning that are housed within its borders, most notably Columbia University, Morningside Heights has a very definite college-town vibe. It has been dubbed the “Academic Acropolis,” both for the large number of schools and for the fact that the neighborhood is built high atop the Manhattan schist bluffs that are the geological bedrock of NYC. From this vantage point, which is the highest point of land in all of Manhattan, you can take in stunning views of upper Manhattan and the Hudson River. Sunsets are especially breathtaking from Riverside Park.

Walk through Morningside Heights and you’ll see a diverse population, especially when the schools are in session. It has a generally quiet atmosphere, bounded by large green spaces, dotted with small cafes, specialty stores, and restaurants that offer all manner of international cuisine. There is a modest nightlife consisting of intimate bars and small musical venues, many of which are open to the wee hours of the morning, and frequented by students.

Housing is primarily pre-war buildings that have larger apartments and beautiful architecture clustered around Broadway. You can find affordable walk-ups in low-rise buildings on the side streets. Many of the residential buildings in the area actually are owned by Columbia University.
