Property Description for 99 John Street, 2108

It is no secret that priorities for what is important have been rediscovered, especially in starter apartments. However, some things never change. Space, location, and light are three of the most important factors in a home for many buyers, and this property has all three!

Unit 2108 at 99 John Street features 11.5 foot ceilings and three oversized windows, showcasing amazing natural light from the east and south which fills the beautiful space. The square living room is almost entirely usable space and allows different set-ups, a rare feature in a one bedroom. Beautiful blonde hardwood floors throughout enhance the natural light.

The modern, pass-through kitchen with dimmable, LED recessed ceiling lights offers any chef the opportunity to enjoy cooking and baking. The stainless steel appliances include a Bosch dishwasher, Electrolux ICON refrigerator, a chef's stove, and microwave. There is plenty of counter space to prepare meals and entertain with a pass through window and breakfast bar, and numerous white-laquer cabinets provide copious storage. In fact, there is no shortage of storage in this apartment! The bathroom is a beautiful mix of different shades of white with mosaic floor tiles.

Your home is not just behind your own closed doors. 99 John is a building that offers an amazing lifestyle of convenience and outdoor living. Its location close to the South Street Seaport and the East River is prime, and allows you easy access to hop on a ferry to Brooklyn, Queens and the beaches, as well as cycling along the FDR trail. With eleven different trains in direct proximity, you have the ideal location to get anywhere both in the city and out.

Whole Foods is slated to open in FIDI in 2021 and will be a short distance away. There are restaurants, shops, and all kinds of other amenities. The building allows pets, offers many amenities including a rooftop where you can see all five bridges to the north, and provides a grill on the 5th floor terrace to entertain neighbors and friends (once COVID is behind us). This building is one of the best kept secrets in the FIDI/Seaport area and living here will connect you easily to all that downtown has to offer today and tomorrow.

Owner is broker.

Seaport District | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The Seaport District sits between the Financial District to the south and the Brooklyn Bridge to the north. The original Seaport designation was limited to the streets east of Water Street from Fletcher Street to Dover Street and incorporated the actual Seaport and the piers. But no more. Today, the neighborhood boundaries have expanded westward toward Park Row and include a surge of new developments in the area around Pace University and City Hall Park.

This is not your father’s Seaport. It is no longer a commercial hub and the seafood industry, which operated out of the port for nearly two hundred years, has been displaced. The older low-rise buildings that line these cobblestoned streets have been repositioned, the SouthBridge towers complex to the east of Water Street has gone free market, multiple commercial buildings have been converted to residential usage and new gleaming residential towers are rising on the site of the iconic J&R Music World which once lined the east side of Park Row.

Still, the Seaport is a small neighborhood, particularly quaint just north of Beekman Street. The streets are dominated by century-old warehouses and maritime buildings which gives the neighborhood its overt character. The Brooklyn Bridge, on its northern edge, looms in the backdrop.
