Property Description for 201 West 21st Street, PH-14/15

201 West 21st Street, PH super-sizes your life. With four beds, 3 baths, 3 exposures, 2 floors, and 1 Home Office, this duplex penthouse offers a roomy work-from-home retreat. Clean design, massive square footage, and forever views from every single window you'll have space, light and views in Chelsea, a prime downtown neighborhood.. Penthouse 14/15 occupies both the east and the west corners of the full time doorman building with the primary suite perched on the 15th floor. This home is an artful combination of four apartments and three exposures, offering views from the Empire State to Hudson Yards and West to New Jersey. Roughly 2,000 square feet, this four bedroom, three bath oasis offers luxuries like a contemporary fireplace in the living room, a dedicated home office with a view, an astounding amount of masterfully created storage space, studio lighting in every room, and a stairway to the 15th floor primary suite. The entry foyer downstairs, with tin wall accents, is the center point with the 14th floor living space spanning around it. The living area has two focal points -- the fireplace accompanied by built-in cabinetry, and New York City as seen through the wall of west-facing windows. Occupying the back of the living area are additional built-in cabinets, open shelving and a kitchen peninsula which leads to the galley kitchen. Stainless appliances and cabinetry, copious pantries, a full-sized refrigerator as well as two additional under-counter refrigerators make this kitchen any home chef’s dream. Beside the living room is the secondary en-suite bedroom with a lovely spa-like bathroom, a built-in desk and a fantastic walk-in closet. This bedroom has the same west-facing views as the living room. Across to the east side of the floor, a second foyer/gallery houses more decorative shelving and an entire wall of closets. This gallery leads to the remaining two bedrooms with east-facing city view, one of which has sliding doors and can be used as a lounge or guest room. A beautifully tiled full bath with inset shelving and southern views services this east wing, as does the dedicated, windowed, and very private home office. Back to the foyer and up the marvelous stairway with sweeping, double-height ceilings, a gallery wall, and inset lighting along the handrails, is the Primary Suite. With west-facing views and slightly larger than the one below, this suite has a walk-in closet in darker wood tones, a sauna-style wood and glass bathroom, and, just beyond the stairs, another bonus walk-in closet. 201 West 21st Street is a full-time doorman cooperative with a live-in super, a laundry room, storage by wait list, and a fairytale-esque planted roof deck that shows just how much thought and care the shareholders put into their building. 201 West 21st Street is at the nexus of Chelsea and Meatpacking. The building is located in perfect proximity to top public and private schools for every age group as well as Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, the shops of the Miracle Mile, Chelsea Market, and the best restaurants and entertaining that downtown has to offer. Washer and dryers in-unit will be considered with board approval.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
