Magnificence awaits you at the ultra-contemporary Glass Condominium, a stunning 7-unit luxury gem in prime Tribeca affording the best of downtown living! Sophisticated Residence 2 at 88 Laight Street reflects the exceptional attention to detail and design sensibility inherent in each expansive modern home. Accessed via a private elevator that opens directly into the apartment, the fabulous floor-through duplex with 2 bedrooms, 3 baths, a home office nook for working remotely, AND 3 incredible outdoor spaces is bathed in light from walls of south-facing windows. This showplace home impresses in every way, from the ornate double wrought-iron doors with entry glass that welcome you inside to the soaring 17' ceilings in the voluminous living area, to top-of-the-line fit and finish throughout. Topping the allure are the large, newly and completely-renovated front and rear terraces on the main level that have been redone to perfection including new flooring and lighting.

The great room is truly a work of art and built for entertaining. Gorgeous heated white Calacatta marble floors, a 54" Swarovski Crystal chandelier, and striking wrought-iron and marble spiral staircase rising to an open landing enrich the ambience. A massive wall of glass with motorized silk curtains and double glass doors gives way to the sprawling 320+ sq ft front main terrace with Hudson River views, 2 outdoor fire pits and barbecue, perfect for cocktail parties, al fresco dining, and lounging with guests. On either side of the great room sits an elegant formal dining room with silk damask wallpaper and white leather tufted walls, and a lovely living room with vent-less fireplace and plenty of space for a home office. At the center of the great room is a sleek open kitchen, finely appointed for the chef, featuring a big double-honed marble island with wine fridge and seating, surround sound, and suite of premium appliances by Miele with 2 refrigerators, a 5-burner gas range, oven, steam cooker, dishwasher, microwave, even built-in coffee machine. After dinner, enjoy the ultimate relaxation on the blissful rear terrace complete with a very unique and private wood pergola-covered Jacuzzi. Back inside, tucked behind the staircase, you'll also find a deluxe full bath and convenient washer-dryer.

Ascend to the upper level which indulges with a dramatic open landing overlooking the living quarters below and generously-sized split-layout bedrooms behind glass walls. Refresh and renew in your spacious master retreat with a light-filled bedroom, custom closets, built-in shelving, and marble-clad en-suite spa bath. A comfortable sitting area with adjoining full marble bathroom opens to a serene balcony that looks out to the peaceful courtyard. On the other end is a secondary bedroom with huge custom walk-in closet.

Enjoy the charm of living on a desirable tree-lined street in Tribeca's sought-after Historic District, in a modern glass condominium near the waterfront. The building offers an inviting wood-paneled lobby, part-time doorman who's on call 24/7, and great address near some of the city's chicest restaurants and other attractions.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
