Property Description for 77 Bleecker Street, 826

FLAWLESS ELEGANCE. Like a bespoke suit or a couture dress this home has been designed and tailored with a keen attention to detail. A meticulous full renovation has created a home that is both beautiful and practical. The living room with ceilings that soar to 17 feet is a dramatic light-filled space with huge almost floor to ceiling arched windows framing architectural views. There is gorgeous custom millwork throughout including a cleverly designed self contained office nook that can be completely closed off. The floors are by Madera, generously 9” wide in European Oak. The windowed open kitchen has storage for everything, including an appliance garage. Everything is accessible yet nothing need be in sight. All fixtures and appliances are top quality. The triple waterfall counter is Calacatta Borghini. A perfectly placed staircase leads to the very private bedroom which is a restful yet light sanctuary. There are linen drapes on a custom hidden track as seen in the owner's favorite Paris boutique hotel. Storage throughout is amazing. Closets are by TransFORM Home NYC. Additional features include automatic remote controlled living room shades, an iconic Noguchi ceiling pendant in the living room, dimmers on all lights, a wine cooler, and new HVAC both upstairs and downstairs. Style and Volume in a lovely cast iron, pet-friendly, well established coop building with 24 hour doorman, excellent maintenance staff, laundry on floor and bike room and storage in basement. Convenient to transportation and all that Noho, Soho, Greenwich Village, the East Village and the West Village have to offer.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
