Property Description for 7600 Ridge Blvd

7600 Ridge Boulevard-One of the most unique and grand homes available in Brooklyn.

Step back to a bygone era of grand living spaces and exceptional craftsmanship in this breathtaking seven-bedroom, sixth-bathroom Colonial Revival residence with a separate studio apartment in the heart of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

A wide front porch and classic brick facade welcome you inside to discover nearly 7,000 square feet of tall, decorative ceilings, hardwood floors, handsome millwork and architectural detail. The traditional center-hall layout opens with an impressive foyer and staircase flanked by a formal dining room and a formal living room that opens to a sunroom. The large eat-in kitchen features a mudroom/laundry room, and the sunny library nearby is the perfect home office.

On the second floor, two sets of two bright, spacious bedrooms each flank a convenient Jack-and-Jill bathroom. The front-facing bedrooms also share a den, ideal as a playroom. At the rear of the level, you'll find a lovely terrace. Above, two more bedrooms access a walk-in closet and a bathroom - a layout that could easily convert to a full-floor owner's suite with access to attic storage.

Currently configured as a medical professional office with a private entrance, the vast lower level is a flexible space that can easily accommodate a home gym, rec room, family room and more. This exceptional corner lot features a long private driveway - a true city luxury - that leads to a detached two-car garage. Above, you'll find a studio apartment, formerly the chauffer's quarters, ideal for multigenerational living, a staff room or an income-generating rental. Put your personal stamp on this move-in ready 1910 home awaiting its next 100 years.

From this special home, you're just one block from outstanding dining along 3rd and 5th Avenues. Some of the city's best-rated schools are nearby, and stunning outdoor space is found in every direction. Excellent bus service, the R train, Bay Ridge Ferry Terminal, Belt Parkway and Verrazano-Narrows Bridge provide easy access to the rest of the city and beyond.

Bay Ridge | Brooklyn

Lush front yards and trimmed hedges are pretty common in Bay Ridge.

Quick Profile

Bay Ridge is an old-world neighborhood neatly tucked into the southwest corner of Brooklyn within the shadows of the Verrazano Bridge. The neighborhood is encircled by the Belt Parkway along the shore line and the Gowanus Expressway inland.

Bay Ridge, long known for its generational pull, has historically been home to a diverse number of ethnic groups. While the area is flush with people of Irish, Italian and Greek descent, these ethnic communities have been joined by larger numbers of new groups, including people with Russian, Polish, Asian and Middle Eastern backgrounds. The Arab American community today in Bay Ridge represents the largest concentration of Arab Americans in New York City.

For many years, Bay Ridge and its waterside location, would attract the affluent. But most of the mansions that once lined Shore Road are long gone and have been replaced by six-story apartment buildings.

Aside from the low-rise apartment buildings, the neighborhood pretty much consists of one and two-family homes. Lush front yards and trimmed hedges are pretty common here.

Current zoning and limitations on building heights restrict any out of the norm development. At present, the future beholds small development on some of the commercial strips and teardowns of older homes for smaller residential projects.
