Property Description for 2 Tudor City Place, 7-BS

Showings and Open Houses BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Residence #7BS at 2 Tudor City Place is a stunning, mint-condition, over-sized two-bedroom, two-bathroom home, in a top full-service cooperative that boasts a large amount of storage without impacting the gracious living space. The historic district of Tudor City has incredible architecture and beautifully manicured parks, all secluded from the bustle of Midtown. The tranquility of the neighborhood is even more remarkable given its close proximity to Grand Central Station. This renovated home with low maintenance, which includes electricity, is exceedingly inviting as the entry foyer welcomes you to a 40-foot deep, loft-like living and dining space. The updated windowed kitchen has custom cabinetry for optimal storage and stainless-steel appliances. The custom-built bar and pantry include a wine fridge and floor-to-ceiling cabinets for additional storage. The second bedroom/home office has custom built-ins that frames space large enough to fit a queen-sized bed or a large desk, offering a quiet space ideal for your work-from-home needs. The king-size master suite has double exposure and an en suite renovated bath with a stand-in shower. Wide plank walnut-stained floors flow throughout the apartment, and custom recessed lighting provides lovely illumination in the evening. Both bathrooms are windowed and include Grohe/Kohler Fixtures and Porcelanosa tiles from Spain. Built in 1955, 2 Tudor City Place is a well-maintained cooperative building with excellent amenities, including a full-time doorman, a live-in superintendent, a private garden, a large laundry facility and bicycle storage. The building is pet-friendly and permits pied-à-terres, 70% financing and co-purchasing. The attached parking garage is discounted for residents. There is also storage in the building available for a nominal fee.

Tudor City | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Compared to other New York City neighborhoods Tudor City is a bit different. For starters, it's not very big. And technically it's not a neighborhood, it's more along the lines of a residential enclave of Tudor style buildings and parks. Even with the large neon sign boldly exclaiming the enclave's name, Tudor CIty is still a little tricky to find.

Located on the southern edge of Turtle Bay, Tudor City borders Murray Hill and lies on a low cliff which is just east of Second Avenue between 40th and 43rd Street. It overlooks the grounds of the United Nations along First Avenue and the East River beyond.

Tudor City is considered one of the world’s first skyscraper apartment complexes. This was considered a remarkable feat in 1929. Early marketing material, aimed at the middle class, described the development as well-planned, well-built, and well-priced housing. Developer Fred F. Finch designed Tudor City to keep middle class residents in Manhattan as many were fleeing the city for the suburbs.
