Property Description for 408 Franklin Ave, 1

One of two luminous apartments set within a charming corner townhouse in Clinton Hill, this 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom triplex including a finished lower rec room with full bath and separate entrance, is a paradigm of contemporary Brooklyn living. Features of the home include gorgeous oak flooring, eastern, western, and northern exposure, huge windows, a finished basement with a full bathroom, central heating and cooling, an in-unit washer/dryer, and access to a sprawling, 800 sq. ft. rooftop deck that possesses commanding views of the surrounding neighborhood.

The home opens directly into an expansive floor-through living room, dining room, and kitchen. Northern and eastern light cascades into the living and dining space, while western light saturates a spacious eat-in kitchen equipped with marble tiled floors, chic cabinetry, sleek granite countertops, subway tile backsplashes, and a suite of high-end stainless steel appliances. Completing the first level is a windowed powder room and a large closet.

All three bedrooms sit on the second level of the home, which is accessed via an elegant staircase with intricate spindles and a regal banister. The master bedroom boasts two walls of windows, a large reach-in closet, and easy access to a large full bathroom with marble walls and a glass-enclosed walk-in shower. The remaining two bedrooms each have private closet space and are adjacent to a full bathroom.

408 Franklin is a 19-ft wide townhouse situated on a picturesque, tree-lined street in Clinton Hill. The building has a redbrick facade and is surrounded by an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops. Nearby subway lines include the A/C/G. Corporate housing applicants are welcome.

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
