Property Description for 30 East 9th Street, 1-B

ALL SHOWINGS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY Not a corner of this gorgeous two-bedroom apartment was overlooked through a meticulous custom renovation that makes efficient and elegant use of the space. Spanish Porcelanosa flooring lends a light, airy, European feel, and the spacious, open layout leaves you with room to spare. Lovely accents, such as custom cove lighting in the living room and dimmable recessed lighting throughout, stylish ceiling fans, in-wall cable TV lines, new radiators and radiator covers, and custom closet interiors, meld form and function. The sleek, open kitchen features Leicht cabinetry, providing abundant storage and extending into the living room, seamlessly blending the spaces. Appliances include a gorgeous Bertazzoni range and microwave, built-in Bosch refrigerator and dishwasher, and there are filtered instant-boil and cold-water faucets. Counter seating provides one option, but there is also a dining alcove featuring an extendable walnut table and custom seating for up to ten (available as part of the sale), as well as a built-in dry bar/service station with wine storage. The master bedroom features a walk-in closet plus a full wall of built-in custom cabinetry with pull-down hanging racks, shelving, and drawers, as well as shoe closets and a built-in desk space for a serene and elegant look. Cleverly-designed twin bedside sconces pull out for adjustable lighting, and there is additional drawer space built into the bed. Custom pocket doors open onto the second bedroom, which can be also be used as an office, or den. With the doors fully opened, the living space is extended even further, also inviting light from an additional two windows into the main living space. A well-designed bathroom features radiant-heat flooring and a built-in laundry hamper. The best the Village has to offer is at your fingertips, but you'll be enjoying that convenience from a beautiful residential block. Noise-reducing “city” windows throughout provide a whisper-quiet living environment, and those windows are outfitted with Hunter Douglas top-down/bottom-up blinds. The Lafayette is a 6-story, full-service building located in the heart of Greenwich Village, right off of University Place. Built on the former site of the Lafayette Hotel, an old favorite of the artistic and literary crowd for nearly a century, today's Lafayette is a pet-friendly coop with a 24-hour doorman and live-in super. It sports a recently-renovated lobby with custom cabinetry for storing packages, and the halls and common spaces are exceptionally well maintained. There is a beautiful interior courtyard, and common laundry, storage units, and bike storage are all available in the building. Washington Square Park, Union Square Park -- with all of its subway lines and it's farmers' market and Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and the endless restaurants, cafes and shops on University Place and throughout the Village are right out the door, while Soho and Chelsea are just slightly farther afield. Fully renovated (with new furnishings) three years ago, this apartment is available for sale furnished or unfurnished. Showings are BY APPT ONLY, so please reach out to schedule a viewing. Please note: Pied-a-Terre not allowed.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
