Property Description for 240 East Houston Street, 4-E

Nestled high above the hustle and bustle at the lively corner of Houston Street and Avenue A is this rarely available, beautifully designed gem of a one bed, two bath plus home office rental with direct access to a common roof deck with breathtaking open views of the downtown skyline. This is a MUST SEE for anyone pursuing a "Downtown Dream Home" in the best neighborhood that Manhattan has to offer.

Upon entering you're immediately drawn to the peaceful ambiance this home provides. The open functional layout creates the perfect cooking, dining and entertaining experience. No detail has been overlooked in the sleek redesigned chef's kitchen appointed with appliances by Sub-Zero, Wolf and Bosch. A cleverly crafted breakfast nook with storage beneath and space for eight is great for feasts or even use it as a makeshift work station!

Just off the living room is a full guest bath completely renovated with Calacatta Gold marble tile, soaking tub and unlacquered brass fixtures.

A long hallway leads from the living room to the oversized master bedroom suite, featuring House of Hackney wallpaper, a large walk-in California Closet and en-suite luxury bathroom. The master bath features Samuel Heath rain shower, HEATED Carrera marble flooring, LG washer and dryer, and Restoration Hardware vanity with Samuel Heath fixtures.

Last but certainly not least, off the living room is a full sized doorway leading to a set of exterior stairs for direct access to the common roof deck. I can't wait to show you!

This is a thoroughly charming home that is far from cookie-cutter, located in one of the best neighborhoods in Manhattan. It's rare in NYC, to find a sanctuary like this one where you can feel so far removed from the city streets and yet have access to all of it's glory. Welcome home!

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
