Property Description for 213 Eastern Parkway, 14

If light, views, location, space and affordability are what you are looking for, then this top floor 3-bed, 2-bath top-floor home, in a stunning barrel front limestone on scenic Eastern Parkway is what you have been waiting for. A spacious layout that flows from front-to-back, South to North, offering three sunny exposures for light all day long. Luxuriate in huge bay windows that look South over the majestic architecture of the Brooklyn Museum and the greenery of Eastern Parkway. An open kitchen and living room with 12’ ceilings, plus an unexpected formal windowed dining room and two full baths make this apartment the unicorn for which you have been waiting. Enter into the amazing great room where you will be greeted by a newly renovated kitchen that is clean, spacious, and windowed. Enjoy white cabinetry, white Quartz countertops, white subway tiled backsplash with a stylish gray grout, and a suite of stainless-steel appliances, including a dishwasher. There is even an unexpected loft and a vintage library ladder for all of your extra storage needs. Exposed brick, original moldings and wood floors lend this home a rustic charm and amazing light that cannot be duplicated in new construction. It is worth the walkup! Entertain friends in your sunny living room and then meander back towards the unexpected windowed dining room for a festive meal with many. A perfectly situated hallway in the middle offers the ideal punctuation between common living spaces and private bedroom areas, allowing for some members of the household to sleep soundly in the back, while others are awake in the front. As you head towards the back you will pass a full bathroom with easy access for guests, two bedrooms, a laundry room, a second full bath, and then an oversized primary bedroom in the back large enough to accommodate a king-sized bed. The two smaller bedrooms are also sizable and make great offices, kids’ rooms, or guest rooms. There is space for all of your needs and then even more! Both windowed bathrooms have been updated in a classic New York style with black and white hexagonal floor tile, subway-tiled walls and new vanities for additional storage. The building offers bike storage, and could not be more conveniently located. Directly across the street from the Brooklyn Museum, the Botanical Gardens, and a quick walk to Prospect Park and the Express 2/3 trains at the Museum stop. Incredible dining and amenities await in every direction on Washington and Franklin Avenues, where you will be the envy of all of your friends. Parents buying for kids and guarantors allowed.

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
