Property Description for 215 East 24th Street, 624/625

What is more spectacular than a 225 sq foot terrace? How about one with a view of the skyline! This well proportioned duplex is laid out with the comforts of home in mind AND all the glam of a sophisticated city life. Upon entering, there is excellent closet space, a full size washer dryer, and a sleek powder room. Proceed to the enviable kitchen with Miele range, hood and diswasher, Sub Zero refrigerator, and Thermador wall oven, microwave and warming drawer. Thoughtful storage in every possible place! There are stunning maple floors and silent yet efficient AC units thorughout the home. The living/dining area lends itself perfectly to comfortable entertaining with a juliet balcony and Chrysler Building view. There is sleek wall storage including a very James Bond style hidden television and top of the line speaker system. The main floor master suite feels like a European hotel room with its open feel. Ascend to the second level for two more bedrooms, another full bath, and behold: the terrace. It's a gift to able to step outside and see the world while maintaining complete privacy. Need more outdoor space? Take one flight up to the building's common roof deck. Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes... and is anything but cookie cutter. You will feel that from the moment you step in the lobby. Full time doorman, super, and staff tend to all your needs. There is a garage on site for ultimate convenience and of course, the aforementioned roof deck. Sorry, no dogs allowed.

Kips Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

If you take a walk through Kips Bay, which is loosely defined as the area between 23rd street and 34th street and the East River to almost Lexington, you’ll quickly learn it's a hodgepodge of sorts and not as well defined as other neighborhoods in New York City. Some New Yorkers say Kips Bay has an identity crisis because 1st, 2nd, and 3rd avenues are distinctly different from one another as you traverse them. Despite the perceived lack of neighborhood vibe there are others that appreciate its affordability and convenience.

First Avenue is dominated by hospitals and hospital buildings such as NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital to name a few. Second Avenue is a mosaic of convenience stores, fast food joints and nondescript brick buildings. Third Avenue is saturated with small bars and gastropubs and the twenty somethings that patronize them.

No judgement against Kips Bay here. It’s a great neighborhood that is just as much a part of New York City as any other neighborhood. Kips Bay It’s bordered by Murray Hill to the North, Stuyvesant Town and Gramercy Park to the South, and Rose Hill to the West. The neighborhood is partly defined by newer high-rise apartments, brick rowhouses, and former tenement buildings.
