Property Description for 380 Lenox Ave, 2-D

Start the New Year here! Located in Central Harlem's premier full-service condominium, The Lenox, you’ll want to come home to this lofty and chic sun-drenched 3 bedroom/2 bath corner unit featuring generous proportions, high ceilings, over-sized windows, abundant closet space, and incredibly low monthlies.

Approximately 1800sqft, with upgraded wide-plank white oak floors throughout, the artful design of this rarely available D-line apartment features a large entry foyer boasting two enormous closets (one a walk-in), as well as a third closet with a stacked washer/dryer.

Just off the foyer, a lengthy hallway with angled walls perfect for displaying artwork leads to a newly renovated guest bath and two additional closets before merging into an open and airy L-shaped kitchen that looks out onto the sun-flooded 26’ 6 x 12’6 Great Room it adjoins, providing the perfect flow for entertaining. Awash with unobstructed southern and western light and views, the lofty expanse currently accommodates living, dining, as well as a baby grand piano.

Both the kitchen and guest bathroom have recently been gut-renovated with exquisite finishes, the kitchen featuring elegantly designed custom cabinetry and granite countertops, a Bosch dishwasher, Frigidaire Professional Series appliances, a double sink, and a breakfast bar that can easily accommodate four or more people; the bathroom, updated with a refined and timeless ceramic finish, features top of the line fixtures.

The Owner’s Suite, located in its own wing off the main hall, is bathed in western light and measures approximately 30 feet deep – allowing for a secondary sitting area or home office in addition to a King-sized bed and other furnishings; three enormous closets (including a walk-in) flank its entry, providing more than ample closet space for even the most expansive wardrobes; and to the right of the entry, a short hall leads to the ensuite bath – which features marble finishes, Kohler fixtures, and a bathtub so deep and long a linebacker could take a soak up to their chin.

The second bedroom, measuring 14’2 x 10’10, has an adjoining dressing area/home office, measuring approximately 8’ x 6’. The third bedroom, measuring 10’3 x 13’4, has a wall of deep closets along its northern perimeter. Both bedrooms can easily accommodate King-sized beds and additional furnishings, and are drenched in light from their southern exposure – so bright, in fact, that the current owners painted both bedrooms dark gray to intentionally soften the effect.

The Lenox is a full-service condominium with incredibly low common charges. Additionally, the building has at 25 year 421-A tax abatement that expires in 2032, which makes the combined monthlies exceptionally low. Amenities include a 24-hour doorman, concierge, onsite parking, a state of art fitness center, and a beautiful roof deck with breathtaking views. (Fios is available in the building,)

Near to all transportation as well as Mt. Morris and Saint Nicholas parks, the building is just a stone’s throw from countless restaurants and landmark cultural institutions. A grocery store is located on the ground level and, additionally, Whole Foods is just a few blocks away. Every convenience awaits you. Come see for yourself! We are able to show the unit by appointment seven days a week, and on relatively short notice.

Harlem | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The neighborhood called West Harlem by the locals is known as Manhattanville to neighborhood newcomers. The area is culturally diverse and might be considered a microcosm of the city as a whole.

Columbia University has recently expanded into the area, which is attracting student residents from all over the world. Together with students from the City College of New York and young professionals fleeing higher prices in other neighborhoods, this influx of younger residents has brought with it more restaurants and bars on W 125th Street to serve this clientele. There are also new ventures, like a rock-climbing gym, to cater to the interests of these students and young professionals. At the same time, there are many small, family-owned shops and restaurants that have been anchors of the neighborhood for multiple generations.

The area has been through a housing upgrade, as older properties have been renovated and abandoned properties have been razed to make room for new development. There are still reasonably priced apartments available. Young professionals are finding that there is a certain cachet to living in West Harlem. It provides a convenient commute to the city and all of its amenities, while providing a sense of escape at the end of a long work day.

While rentals are popular with the student population, the young professionals are delighted to find pre-war brownstones, pre-war co-ops (including some income-capped HDFCs for lower- and middle-income buyers), and post-war condos that they can afford, although prices are rising. Some new low-rise developments, sporting virtual doormen and desired amenities, are cropping up.
