Property Description for 124 Hudson Street, 3-B

3B is a mint condition, perfectly laid out, 2 Bedroom / 2 Bathroom (plus Home Office) apartment located at 124 Hudson Street, a premier full-service condominium in the heart of Tribeca's Landmark District. The unit offers everything one would expect from a luxury home; beautiful hard wood floors, huge double hung windows, high ceilings (10ft), a Chef's kitchen, premium appliances, and a fireplace.

The apartment's loft setting and modern design, emphasizing spaciousness and simplicity, create an exceptional environment in which to live and entertain. Upon entering 3B, one is met with a sprawling open floor plan (33ft X 25ft) and over-sized west-facing windows. The living and dining rooms, spacious enough to comfortably accommodate any gathering, are situated adjacent to a Chef's kitchen complete with Poggenpohl walnut cabinets, top of the range appliances, and limestone countertops. An Office / Den / Media Room is accessed off of the main area.

A hallway separates the bedrooms from the entertaining space, giving a sense of privacy and quiet. Lush wall-to-wall carpeting leads to a large, west-facing, secondary bedroom and on to the master bedroom which is situated at the far end of the bedroom wing. The light flooded master bedroom is perfectly proportioned with a large walk-in closet and a spacious limestone tiled bathroom with dual sinks.

124 Hudson Street is a 9-story, 27 unit, 92,000 square foot residential condominium building, designed as a contemporary homage to the elegant and utilitarian loft structures of the Tribeca Historic District. It takes advantage of openness and light with its industrial-scale. The design was praised by the Landmarks Preservation Commission as sensitive to the neighboring buildings, and is now much admired as a handsome and well-detailed addition to the already rich historic context. 124 Hudson offers the full range of amenities that would be expected of a luxury apartment building.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
