Property Description for 2 Beekman Place, 3-CD

This beautiful, bright three-bedroom, three bath home was creatively designed and impeccably executed in the best of taste for the discriminating buyer. The finished renovation encompassing two adjacent apartments includes new hallways, doors, floors, wiring, lighting and a decorative fireplace. Subzero and Wolf appliances in the kitchen along with classic nickel designer bathroom fixtures complete the finish.

Nine closets have been custom designed for storage including an office closet with full-size filing cabinet and two smaller closets now dedicated to shoes. Tilt-and-turn windows, custom radiator covers, carefully selected baseboard and crown molding in addition to marble window ledges confirm the attention to detail throughout this spacious home.

As a bonus to the three generous size bedrooms, Apartment 3CD includes a large media room complete with a full wet bar. These spaces could potentially be converted to a fourth bedroom and bath, if desired.

Watch the boats traverse the East River from both the corner living/dining room and eat-in-kitchen. Views overlooking gracious Beekman Place will take you to another world in an oasis of quiet and calm. Enjoy the changing seasons and privacy afforded by the many trees flanking both the eastern and southern sides of this classic pre-war building.

Built in 1932, this is a Rosario Candela designed building located in one of the few remaining unspoiled residential enclaves in Manhattan. The building has a beautifully planted roof deck, 24-hour doorman, elevator operator, resident superintendent, laundry room and a large bicycle storage shed in the building courtyard. Two storage units in the basement are reserved for Apartment 3CD.

This is a no-smoking building. Pied-a-terre and pets welcome. Buyer pays 2% Flip Tax.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
