Property Description for 135 East 54th Street, 15-E

This spacious 1091sq. ft. two bedroom apartment is situated in a perfect location for a busy New Yorker. Minutes from the 4/5/6 and E subways and Grand Central there is easy access to all of Manhattan, JFK airport and the Metro North trains. Lex 54 condominium is a Rosario Candela reductionist modern building built in 1948 close to some of Manhattan's most exciting new developments including 432 Park Avenue, 100 East 53rd Street and The Baccarat. Near Central Park, Fifth Avenue Department stores and designer boutiques, the Museum of Modern Art, restaurants, Whole Foods Market and a new French Food market and restaurant planned for 100 East 53rd Street. Rosario Candela was renowned for designing some of the most gracious and exclusive buildings in New York such as 720 & 740 Park Avenue, 834 & 1040 Fifth and 1 Sutton Place. While Lex 54 is a more modest building, the flow of the apartment layout reflects the architect's style. A wide entry foyer leads into an expansive living /dining room with a beautiful balcony. Perfect for entertaining, guests will enjoy the skyline views East, and North over the decorative rooftop of the Or Olam Synagogue.

The master bedroom is spacious with plenty of closet space. The smaller second bedroom is a perfect guestroom or could also be used as a home office. The floorplan has the bathroom available to guests from the hallway so that the master bedroom can remain private. The windowed kitchen with dishwasher is a pleasant setting for an ardent chef. There are parquet wood floors throughout and a total of seven closets.

Lex 54 is a full service condominium with doorman and live in super, a laundry room, bike room and storage. Pied -a- terre and investor friendly. Pets are permitted with board approval.

Midtown East | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Midtown West and Midtown East have a lot in common. They’re bustling, iconic, and full of people. But just like siblings, their personalities can be vastly different. Midtown East is a bit more sophisticated and doesn’t quite have the vivacity and unruliness that its westerly counterpart exudes.

Midtown East is bordered by 42nd to the south, 59th Street to the north, 5th Avenue to the west, and 3rd Avenue to the east.

The neighborhood is famous for its high-end stores, tourist attractions, posh hotels (budget ones too), and iconic architecture. Midtown East is also one of the largest financial and business hubs in Manhattan. During normal business hours the sidewalks are full of commuters and people moving from point A to point B. In the early evening, when the masses have left for the day, things suddenly get a little quieter and the sidewalks have a lot less foot traffic.

Although largely a commercial neighborhood, residential areas of Midtown East do exist on the eastern section of the neighborhood.

Grand Central Station is located in Midtown East and like Midtown West, it’s an extremely commutable neighborhood. The 4, 5, 6, 7 and S trains whisk people in and out of the neighborhood 24 hours a day. Grand Central Station also serves as a hub for New York State and Connecticut commuter rails. These trains can take you anywhere along the Hudson River or up into Connecticut. It’s perfect for day tripping.
