Albert Joseph Bodker was a successful architect around the turn of the last century, but the Turin became known as his masterpiece when it was completed in 1909. The building is adorned with many of that periods typical architectural details like a domed glass entry canopy, a 2-story limestone base embellished with male and female figures, arched windows on the first floor and ornamental wrought-iron planting balconies. When designing this 12-storey building, Bodker took considerable liberties with the then popular Italian-Renaissance-palazzo-style design and they were very critically acclaimed.
