Property Description for 444 East 52nd Street, 3-F

BEEKMAN Prewar 2 Bedroom / 2 Bath!

Charming and triple mint 2 bedroom home nestled at the end of one of Beekman's sought after cul-de-sac streets, opposite the River House.

This sponsor unit apartment has undergone a significant renovation that included creating a large eat in kitchen; new bathrooms and window replacement.

Entering into the foyer, the kitchen to the left has been tastefully expanded and remodeled to include black granite counter tops, and top of the line appliances including a full size vented washer/dryer as well as a large eating area.

The bright south facing living room with decorative fireplace offers views over the tree tops of Peter Detmold Park and the East River. Through pocket sliding doors at the rear of the living room is the flexible second bedroom/den which features a new en-suite bathroom with shower, and a large closet. The master bedroom shares the beautiful southern city and river view through new tilt and turn single pane windows. There is another new marble bathroom and large closet. Beautifully restored hardwood floors, moldings and through wall air conditioning complete this special home.

444 East 52nd Street is a pet friendly full service co-op that was built in 1929.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
