Property Description for 333 East 55th Street, 12-DE

NEW-TO-MARKET, TWO BRs and TWO TERRACESWASHER/DRYER and GORGEOUS SW LIGHT

SUCCESS STARTS WITH BEING THE FIRST ONE IN. It's time to make your appointment now! As you pass through the threshold of your new home into your large entry foyer architecturally enhanced by lowered ceilings to create an intimate feel, you will immediately appreciate the dramatic touches of this "out of the ordinary" residence. No cookie cutter here! Off of the welcoming entrance you'll adore the large contemporary squared arch leading to a commodious and ample living room. There is an equally generous formal dining room just outside of your California kitchen. Everyone knows that the kitchen is the heart of the home and nowhere will you appreciate it more than here. It is so well laid out and windowed, of course. Plenty of room for four bar stools. Enjoy top of the line appliances that include Sub Zero refrigeration, Miele self-venting oven. Bosch dishwasher and a generous wine refrigerator large enough for 100 bottles! Let's not forget an unforgettably LARGE pantry!

This gracious home has been intelligently redesigned by the current owner. There are cherry wood doors that include two large ones in the entry foyer, lovely wood strip floors and more... You'll love having a guest powder room with tumbled marble floors and a room saving sleek pedestal sink. The half bath is off the foyer and away from your personal space. This room is also enhanced by a lovely ceiling fixture and crown molding.

Your new home enjoys two fabulous south facing bedrooms. Your master bedroom has bath en suite with double sink and large shower. Bedroom two is extra-large as it now encompasses a wonderful separate and distinct office area that could also serve as a nursery. This room includes its own private bath with extra deep soaking tub.

In case all of the above is not enough, you'll fall in love with the two private setback terraces. One is a grand 25 ft by 10 ft entertaining space large enough for plenty to enjoy. The other more intimate terrace is now the owner's herb garden!

Simply stated, it's all here, including closets galore and for your convenience a washer and dryer in the apartment. Your new full service building offers a full time doorman, live in super, gym, garage and roof deck. Be the first in. Sorry no dogs. You won't be disappointed so call us now!

Sutton Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Sutton Place is usually described with favorable words like charming, cozy, great neighborhood, hidden gem, sanctuary, or even small village inside a big city. Those descriptions aren’t from real estate folks either, they’re from the people that live and work there, so it must be true.

The quiet and upscale neighborhood is more like an enclave. It’s bounded by East 53rd Street to the south, East 59th Street to the North, First Avenue to the west, and the East River to the east. Most residents will tell you that everything you’ll ever need is located in the neighborhood. When it’s time to venture out into the cityscape, Sutton Place is within easy reach to Midtown and cultural attractions like the Museum of Modern Art, Rockefeller Center, Central Park and other iconic sites.

Manhattan has always had notable celebrity residents. But for unknown reasons, Sutton Place has had more than its share of superstars over the years. Some of the more iconic celebs include: Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller, Freddie Mercury, Sigourney Weaver, Joan Crawford, Michael Jackson and sister Latoya (Just for one summer).

Sutton Place is named after Effingham B. Sutton, a shipping merchant and entrepreneur. After hitting it big in the California gold rush, Sutton built brownstones along East 57th and East 58th streets with aspirations of making the section more residential. Poverty and crime dashed his dreams. The street gangs that hung out along the dead-ends and cul-de-sacs added to the neighborhood’s decay. Sutton was about to give up on his development endeavors but the Vanderbilt’s and the Morgan’s showed up in the 1920s and transformed the neighborhood. It soon became a wealthy enclave.
