Property Description for 103 East 10th Street, 2-D

Tucked in the back of a pre-war elevator building, on a gorgeous tree-lined landmarked block, lies hidden a peaceful garden respite. A charming, quiet and utterly unique duplex apartment with a 12ft+ high ceiling, wood-burning fireplace and your own private garden!

The perfectly proportioned living room has a grand sense of scale with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, a wall of exposed brick and a lofted storage area. French doors open up to your outdoor garden patio, with a dedicated water line for irrigation. The windowed open kitchen features beautiful country-style cabinets, butcher block counter and stainless steel appliances. The bedroom has a built-in loft bed with storage underneath for maximum utility. The windowed bathroom is charmingly detailed with wainscoting, subway tiled bath, hex tiled floor and a marble topped sink. The lower level space is perfect for a cozy den, entertainment room, or a secluded guest room with its own closet and separate entrance from the basement. The apartment is all in excellent condition with newly painted walls and luminous refinished hardwood floors.

Located just off Third Avenue on one of the most stunning East Village blocks, 103 East 10th Street is a five story, 22 unit, pre-war elevator building converted to co-operative ownership in 1984. The building is pet friendly and has a laundry room and video intercom with keyless entry. The Co-op allows co-purchasing, gifting, parents buying and subletting. Incredible central location with easy access to multiple subway lines at Union Square, and a plethora of restaurants, bars, shopping and entertainment venues all within a few blocks.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
