Property Description for 41 East 28th Street, 5-C

Architecturally designed to create a stunning and wonderfully functional space, this loft-like apartment is divided by a storage wall inspired by the Flatiron building four blocks away. The wall provides hidden storage, an entertainment center, and lighting all in one stylish element. There is also a small interior room, which can function as a sleep area or home office. This "pod" is multifunctional and includes shelving on one side and, on the other, a banquette for dining. Window seats offer additional storage and seating. The spacious kitchen includes Poggenpohl-designed cabinets, ample floor space, a Miele dishwasher, and stainless steel appliances for a real professional kitchen. There is an immense walk in closet with built in floor to ceiling shelves and cabinetry.

This intimate, established and incredibly well-run co-op has exceptionally low maintenance and no underlying mortgage. Built in 1910, and with only three units per floor, the building offers video intercom service, a recently renovated lobby and hallways, new elevator cabs and triple paned windows. There is bike storage and laundry on the premises; regular storage is in the planning stage. Flexible board permits subletting after just one year of residence!

Live in beautiful Madison Square Park/NoMad, one of the most vibrant and fastest growing areas of Manhattan. Less than a half block from the 6 train and two blocks from the N/R, the building is also moments away from the soon-to-open SLS Hotel, Gansevoort Park, Ace, NoMad and Edition Hotels, Dover Street Market, Eataly, Shake Shack and much more.

NoMad | Manhattan

Quick Profile

NoMad, North of Madison Square Park, is a rectangular swath of land that is bordered by East 25th Street to the south, East 29th Street to the north, Sixth Avenue to the west, and depending who you ask, Madison or Lexington Avenue to the East. It’s had its acronymed name for over two decades but not every New Yorker calls the neighborhood NoMad.

Historic architecture, trendy hotels and restaurants and high-priced apartments - NoMad wasn’t always the coveted neighborhood that it is today. It’s gone through many transformations over the years. Including a red light district known as the Tenderloin in the 1880’s. It was a popular shopping destination and a place where high society held court in the mid 19th century. It was part of New York City’s Silicon Alley in the 1990’s.

As of lately, world class chefs and restaurants have moved into NoMad. It’s tied with Midtown Manhattan for having the most Michelin stars (six stars to date). Besides NoMad’s architecture, nightlife, and restaurants, we can’t forget the added perk of being close to other great neighborhoods and cultural institutions. NoMad’s central location makes it easier to get just about anywhere in the city. You can walk to Chelsea, West Village, Union Square or Grand Central Station in no time at all. The N, R, 1, 6, B, Q, F, and M are very close or just a few blocks away. Penn Station is also within walking distance.
