Property Description for 60 East 9th Street, 204

Apartment 204 is a gut-renovated 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home in a full-service building, located on a tree-lined block in prime Greenwich Village. Completed in 2019, this corner unit offers a very functional layout and luxury finishes you won't find in most rentals. Enter through a spacious foyer to an open kitchen equipped with a paneled Liebherr refrigerator and Bosch dishwasher, an extra deep stainless sink, 5-burner gas stove, two pantries, and breakfast bar dining for 3. The living space measures over 22 ft. long and comfortably accommodates a sectional sofa and dining table (or home office set up). Tucked behind a pocket door, the powder room has abundant storage with custom cabinetry and an oversized floating vanity. In the full bathroom you'll find heated marble flooring, a banjo countertop, medicine cabinet with storage, and glass enclosed shower with extra large marble niche. The master bedroom, with two exposures and beautiful Grace Church views, easily fits a king bed plus additional furniture. The second bedroom offers two sizable closets and could also make a great home office, guest suite, or workout room. Other details include refinished hardwood floors, dual pane windows and recessed / designer lighting throughout. Pets are considered case by case. Unfortunately the building does not allow guarantors. 60 E. 9th Street is a full-service co-op with amenities including a 24-hour doorman, central laundry room, bike room, landscaped courtyard, live-in super, and parking garage next door. The building sits at the crossroads of Noho, Greenwich Village and Astor Place, providing easy access to the R, W, or 6 subway trains, Washington Square Park or Union Square. Choose from immeasurable dining options on the Gold Coast, Bowery, Bleecker Street or St. Mark's Place and an array of grocery stores within easy walking distance – Whole Foods, Westside Market, Agata & Valentina, Trader Joe's or the Union Square farmers market. Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
