Property Description for 263 Ninth Ave, 8-E

This loft speaks volumes, of cubic footage! With a 12.5ft high beamed ceiling, a grand 30X21ft living room and a pleasingly squared layout, this minimalist loft exudes a feeling of spaciousness. Positioned on a high floor in a luxury doorman condo building in the heart of the Chelsea arts district, you are just minutes from the Highline and a plethora of fantastic galleries and restaurants.

An entry foyer opens up to a bright and airy living/dining room with North and West corner exposures and a 8X12ft set of double-hung bronze framed windows showcasing dynamic views of the Hudson Yards towers, midtown skyline and even a bit of the Hudson River. The living room is spacious enough to add a sizable second windowed bedroom (see alternate floorplan). A large open kitchen features stainless steel appliances by SubZero and Bosch, custom solid wood cabinetry and copious amounts of storage and counter space. Stove vents to the outside!

An enormous and bright master bedroom suite features sleek built-in storage under a wall of windows, a double set of closets, custom blackout shades, and enough space to fit both a king bed and your Peloton. The luxurious five-fixture master bathroom features marble topped double sinks, marble wrapped deep soaking tub and a sizeable glass enclosed shower with limestone tiled wall. A secluded home office or guest room, with its own dedicated full bathroom, has been renovated with the addition of a big lofted sleeping area and floor to ceiling closet/cabinet/shelf storage. Additional features include a washer and vented dryer, individually controlled HVAC units in each room, custom blinds on all windows, and bleached wide-plank hardwood floors over thick slab concrete.

Originally built in 1914 as a printing house, and converted to condos in 2006, The Heywood is a boutique 50-unit luxury loft building in the trendy West Chelsea Gallery District. Amenities include a 24hr doorman, full-time super, porter and roof deck. Conveniently located with easy access to the Highline (access on W26th, 1 block away!), Hudson River Park, Chelsea Piers and Whole Foods. Not to mention the superb collection of galleries, restaurants, shops, services and nightlife that the Chelsea neighborhood has to offer!

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
