Property Description for 88 Greenwich Street, 1208

If you have been seeking a property that offers a balanced indoor and outdoor living environment, you may have found that a large, deep terrace, open to the skyline, is typically found only on large floorplate properties. 1208 is the rare exception: a petit corner loft, wrapped in windows overlooking iconic FiDi architecture on the building’s NE corner, it features 258 square feet of exterior and 588 interior space. As you enter, you pass through the foyer, flanked by two deep California closets. Step into the spacious living area and take in the flexible layout that allows for several distinct purpose areas, lit by the four tall windows the glass door out. The ceilings are tall, and the flooring is a warm walnut hardwood. The kitchen is exceptional, its width sets it apart from the main, as does the brand quality: Viking range, Sub-Zero refrigerator, and Fisher & Paykel dual-drawer dishwashers, Walnut cabinetry, and white MontBlanc glass composite countertops and tiled backsplash. Need more storage? A deep walk-in closet provides that, or use it as a dedicated home office space! You have many options to design the ideal layout for your needs. Lit by and east window, the cheery bright bathroom is clad in striated light grey marble, with a Himalayan silk marble counter and a dark stone floor. Its deep Kohler tub features a rainfall showerhead and an elegant glass half-door The Greenwich Club Condominium offers abundant amenity spaces, all of which are Wi-Fi enabled. On the 24th floor, the Harbor Room is a comfortable lounge offering a kitchen, a restroom, and cable TV, divided into living and dining areas with windows facing south over NY Harbor and the Verrazano Bridge. Adjacent to this lounge is an outdoor sky deck with elegant newer furniture. Downstairs you'll find the billiard/TV room, a library with a fireplace and a grand piano, and a small business center. On the lower level, a 3,000 square foot gym offers cardio, an extensive weight selection, and a yoga room. There are laundry rooms on every floor. Financial District | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The Financial District (FiDi) today is a bit of a hybrid neighborhood, as the residential component continues to grow in an area that has been historically dominated by the financial and insurance industries. The residential experiment, which began more than two decades ago, continues to evolve in an area with a large concentration of older, large office buildings. Developers have taken to these aged buildings and have re-positioned them as residential properties. In turn, the public spaces, services and retail establishments needed for a thriving residential neighborhood have followed making this an important destination for city residents.

Since 2000, the residential population of the Financial District has nearly tripled in size from about 23,000 residents to more than 60,000 inhabitants. Many of the residential pioneers to FiDi were people attracted to the lower rents in the neighborhood, particularly the post-collegiate crowd. While the millennials still maintain a large footprint here, there are plenty of families that now consider the Wall Street area home.

Many of those that live in the Financial District walk to work. If you reside here and need to commute elsewhere, the transportation from here is about as good as it gets. Express trains can take you to Midtown, either east or west, in twenty minutes. Brooklyn is but a single subway stop away. There are also ferries across to Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.
