Property Description for 111 East 10th Street, 6

A gem so special that in a City filled with amazing properties, this one was chosen to be featured by the the New York Times on their pages! In a sea of non-descript high-rise glass boxes, a rare gem has been found! This sun and nature filled garden level (first floor) one-of-a-kind, magnificent duplex is the stuff of NYC dreams. Featuring enormous casement windows fill it with light and all face a lush, beautiful landscaped common garden. This extraordinary property has the feel and look of a French painter's studio turned into a cozy home. Blissfully quiet, you can hear the birds and watch the squirrels play while you have your coffee in the mornings. Exposed brick, 12 foot high ceilings on the second level (suitable for lofting), hardwood floors and a marvelous real staircase complement the fully renovated, fully equipped kitchen, the two fully renovated full baths and a grandfathered washer/dryer. This is just the beginning! This rare and light filled home is housed in one of the East Village's most historic and sought after buildings. This established cooperative is composed of neighboring historic townhouses adjacent to St. Mark's Church and other East Village landmarks. It sits within the landmarked St. Mark's Historic district, making this location one of the most coveted in all of NYC. The well-managed cooperative has an expansive common garden. Both the building and the location are nothing short of pure NYC gold. Your pets are allowed. Sorry but, this is a NON-Smoking building. East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
