Property Description for 60-51 Putnam Ave

Renovated and restored 2-Family Renaissance Revival row house designed by Louis Berger & Co located in the Central Ridgewood Historic District. Inspired by clean Scandinavian design, the owners created a modern home with a soothing color palette of Norwegian blue, light oak floors and clean white walls. A reconfigured layout transforms the classic railroad into two large winged bedrooms front and rear with an open living / dining room at the center of the home. Southern sun bathes the home in natural light while pocket doors and transoms with 9’6” ceilings create an open and airy feel. Eat-in kitchens fashioned in white and black subway tile with vintage woodwork cabinetry and new appliances offer excellent counter space and storage. The serene and private garden accessible from the first level apartment is a welcome place to entertain outdoors with it's own tree, a wall of ivy and area for additional plantings. A finished walk-in basement with 7’ ceilings and separate entrance makes this home nearly 2,600SF in size. Additional highlights include washer/dryer, LED lighting, ceiling fans, new walls, updated electrical, and freshly painted interior and exterior. A truly move-in ready home. Shopping, dining and transportation can be found just one block away on Fresh Pond Rd. Delivered vacant. Brokers always welcome. All showings are by appointment including posted open house times. Proof of funds for purchase and completed Covid forms required to show.

Ridgewood | Queens

Quick Profile

Unique for being a symbolic and literal bridge between Brooklyn and Queens, Ridgewood incorporates both distinct elements of these boroughs into its persona. Originally considered part of Brooklyn, the neighborhood broke off with Bushwick in the 1700s at a point called, appropriately, Arbitration Rock. When the blackout of 1977 occurred, the residents of Ridgewood only further wanted to dissociate themselves from their Bushwick neighbors as the bedlam that ensued in between the looting and the riots made them feel just a tad superior.

And yet, just because its zip code changed didn’t mean Ridgewood could ever fully break free from its proximity and entwined identity with Bushwick. Pegged as the next “it” destination and hipster haven to move to circa 2016, Ridgewood has surprised many with its steady pace of growth, therefore well-maintained “neighborhood” feel.

Rife with quiet blocks filled with quaint, colorful buildings, Ridgewood offers the bodegas and local businesses one also expects of “old world” Brooklyn. An increase in the number of coffee shops, bars and DIY venues have continued its natural association with Bushwick, however, the deeper into the neighborhood you go, the more apparent it becomes that Ridgewood is very much its own very Queensian thing.
