Property Description for 755 Quincy Street

Named one of the worlds' top five coolest neighborhoods in Timeout Magazine's October issue, Bedford Stuyvesant lives up to the billing in every way. From its amazing architectural history to a litany of restaurants/eateries, shops, and the neighborhood's rich and diverse culture, living here provides an unparalleled lifestyle. 755 Quincy Street is situated on a beautiful tree-lined block. With brownstone homes similar in appeal on the exterior, this one gives you the chance to extend your personal touch and design esthetic on the interior, without a full gut renovation. This 2-family home offers two, three-bedroom duplexes, four-bathrooms, and four levels of living space. Let your furnishings do the talking with plenty of room and space to explore, the owner can either occupy the garden and Parlor combination duplex, with 3-bedrooms on the parlor and the living room and kitchen open concept on the garden level that is accompanied by an extra-large backyard to create your own backyard oasis for entertaining household and friends. The other option is the two top floors in which you also have 3-bedrooms, 2-bathrooms and a fully open top-level. Along with this specious open concept there are two sky lights with a tilted ceiling which lends a unique element of character to draw your creative juices from. The option of formal dining and entertainment along with a full kitchen on the top level is a very smart and effective use of space. The 3-bedrooms and full bath just below and the similar size in bedrooms lend lots of flexibility for household and guests. 755 Quincy Street is located close to a variety of restaurants, bars, and cafes. Also nearby are many parks, most notably the Jackie Robinson Playgrounds at Malcolm X Blvd/Chauncey St., which has basketball courts, handball courts, outdoor exercise equipment as well as a public tennis court. Transportation is convenient; just a block away is the B46 bus on Malcolm X Blvd, the B52 on Gates Avenue, trains such as the J at Kosciuszko Street Station, and the Z, J, M at Myrtle Avenue Station, which gets you into the city in 20 minutes.

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
