Property Description for 237 East 24th Street, 3-E

Welcome to 237 East 24th Street, Apartment 3E. This spacious, king-sized 1-bedroom, 1-bath in Gramercy features a renovated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, marble bath, beautiful plank hardwood flooring, and decorative fireplace with exposed brick.

The Building & Neighborhood:

The apartment is located on the second floor of a well-kept, boutique walk-up building with laundry on-site. Located on East 24th Street and Third Avenue, you will not only be stone’s throw from Gramercy Park, Madison Square Park, Union Square and the East River Waterfront, but you’ll also be around the corner from some of the New York’s best cultural and restaurant finds.

Try Daily’s Provisions’ kouign-amann, the cacio e pepe at Maialino, and celebrate the holidays all year round (mulled wine included) at Rolf’s.

Nearby, spend an afternoon engrossed in thought-provoking photography at Fotografiska (and be sure to check out the historic Renaissance Revival building itself!), or slowly make your way through one of the most extensive and diverse personal collections at The Morgan Library & Museum, OR test your skills at the Museum of Mathematics (as much fun for adults as it is for children).

Restaurant offerings aside, home cooks will appreciate the grocery selection at Morton Williams right across the street, or straight from the farms at the Union Square Green Market.

Enjoy easy access to anywhere in the city with the 6 train at East 23rd Street, multiple lines at Union Square, and a brief walk to the East River Ferry.

Kips Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

If you take a walk through Kips Bay, which is loosely defined as the area between 23rd street and 34th street and the East River to almost Lexington, you’ll quickly learn it's a hodgepodge of sorts and not as well defined as other neighborhoods in New York City. Some New Yorkers say Kips Bay has an identity crisis because 1st, 2nd, and 3rd avenues are distinctly different from one another as you traverse them. Despite the perceived lack of neighborhood vibe there are others that appreciate its affordability and convenience.

First Avenue is dominated by hospitals and hospital buildings such as NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital to name a few. Second Avenue is a mosaic of convenience stores, fast food joints and nondescript brick buildings. Third Avenue is saturated with small bars and gastropubs and the twenty somethings that patronize them.

No judgement against Kips Bay here. It’s a great neighborhood that is just as much a part of New York City as any other neighborhood. Kips Bay It’s bordered by Murray Hill to the North, Stuyvesant Town and Gramercy Park to the South, and Rose Hill to the West. The neighborhood is partly defined by newer high-rise apartments, brick rowhouses, and former tenement buildings.
