Property Description for 817 De Kalb Ave, 3

CONTRACT SIGNED - Welcome to luxury living in the heart of historic Bedford-Stuyvesant. Built in 2016, 817 Dekalb Ave Apt 3 is a massive, 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom duplex condominium with nearly 900 SF of private outdoor space that includes an expansive 800 SF roof deck where you can enjoy striking distant city views and spectacular sunsets. If that wasn't enough, you also have 3 balconies on two levels. Head up the front stairs - through your private entrance - into a spacious Great Room with a large living area on your left that boasts a wall of south facing windows allowing for fantastic light all day long. Grab a cocktail and step out onto the first of your three balconies. Back inside, you’ll find the dining area with ample space to seat 6-8 diners for a gourmet meal prepared in your open modern chef’s kitchen. The open kitchen features all stainless-steel appliances and includes a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator, Bertazzoni range and hood, and paneled Bosch dishwasher. Beautiful polished stone counters and an abundance of storage with lacquered exotic wood custom cabinetry make this kitchen as practical as it is beautiful. On this floor you will also find a tiled half-bath and coat closet. Head up the stairs to an open atrium. On this upper level you will find 3 generous sized bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The primary bedroom suite is king-sized and approximately 210 SF with its own balcony along with en suite tiled bathroom, large walk-in closet, and small nook perfect for a desk as well as a sitting area. The other two bedrooms are queen-sized - one is large enough for a queen or king bed - and the other includes the 3rd balcony overlooking the treetops. Also, on this level is the 2nd full shared tiled bathroom, a washer and dryer closet, and access up the stairs in the atrium to the massive private roof deck. This tree top paradise is ideal for relishing quiet moments reading your favorite novel, watching the sun set behind the Manhattan skyline or entertaining family or guests al fresco with an afternoon BBQ. Only 4 years old, this is the first resale of this unit which has 1,765 SF of interior space, hardwood floors throughout, 9’ ceilings, Pella noise reduction windows and central HVAC.

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
