Property Description for 425 East 51st Street, 1-E

This lovely apartment is located on one of Manhattan's most sought after and quiet streets, Beekman Place. Situated on an exclusive tree-lined street, this beautiful hardwood floored apartment welcomes you into a foyer with an entry closet spacious enough to fit coats from all seasons of the year, along with chandeliers that help accent all the major rooms of the apartment. As you walk towards the spacious bedroom that is big enough to fit a king size bed with a dresser and wardrobe, you shall pass by a spacious walk-in closet & a separate pantry right across from the kitchen. Natural light is no exception in this apartment, making the chandeliers obsolete throughout the day. This extremely well maintained building comes with a doorman, laundry in building, common garden, bike room, & with pets being allowed with no approval needed! If this isn't enough, there is a tucked away walk-down park only seconds from your doorstep that overlooks the East River. Not to mention all the close by one-off restaurants down the block on 1st Avenue such as Deux a Mi, if French is what you're craving, or fresh Mediterranean… the options cease to fail.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
